Usually any microbes that have spent a few hundred-thousand years walled off from the rest of the world, don't stand a chance when released. They've lived for so long without competition or pathogens that they end up starved out or gobbled up.

"And the waters shall run red as blood" <.< Yeah this is a creepy sight to look upon. Ancient microbs turning the water red. And We complain about red tide killing the fish. Are these microbes causing any harm or just tie dying the sea?
