A class 3 hurricane will probably hit southeastern Louisiana this Monday. Unfortunately, I live there.
If I don't show for a while... that's why. _________________ AKA Skoon

Don't you know that banana peels can be used to prevent hurricanes? Watch Monty Pyton sometime. It's the source of all wisdom!

Her's an Idea; why don't you and Jon GET THE F**K OUTA THERE!!! It always amazes me people staying when an a$$ kicker of a storm is known to be coming through. What the hell are they trying to acomplish? The storm is going to tear up there s**t weather they're there or not. _________________ "Political Correctness is tyranny with manners." Charlton Heston

Allow me to explain.
First off, where the storm is right now, they have no absolute proof that it will cause enough damage to Baton Rouge to call for evacuation.
Secondly, I would love to leave and go stay with our friends in Tennessee during the storm, however, unless they call for evacuation of the city, Jon is likely to miss work and get fired.
Thirdly, They jack up gas prices by at least $3 in surrounding areas of the storm path and we are poor as it is. Tennessee is a long walk away.
See, that just doesn't leave us with a lot of options. _________________ AKA Skoon

What?! That's price gouging isn't it that's supposed to be illegal I thought.
Anyway, I thought you guys were going to be able to go to MFM this year after all. _________________ "Political Correctness is tyranny with manners." Charlton Heston

Apparently it's not illegal here. Because that's what they just did last night. _________________ AKA Skoon

Folks who really know me have always said that if I was in the path of a hurrican I would be the crazy out there strapped to a tree with a camera... And it's totally true
I can't come for the weekend, this weekend we have stuff scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, IT has to work all week and next weekend is even more full than this weekend. I have very few weekends free till middle of November. I told my own mom she needs to schedule at least a couple weeks ahead to have a chance at getting me.
If you have to evacuate you know we'll squeeze you in, but forwarning, I'm helping host a yard sale at my church next weekend and my livingroom is full of stuff for the yard sale (last weekend I packed my van full to the roof of my stuff and others donations for the yard sale) so you may be cuddled up to a 1951 stand alone juicer or a couple dozen puzzles. At least you'd have plenty of stuffed animals to snuggle with while you wonder about how much damage your apt is sustaining. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!

I don't know, but I kinda doubt it. The info plate is kinda scratched up so I can't make out company name but it's a nice sized metal industrial juicer. Squeeze by hand lever type thing.
Also have a 1950s era kitchen clock, theres a near exact match online thats asking almost 50.00, an electric typewriter, an old but working sewing machine.
Yeah, it's amazing when folks get in a cleaning spree! lol. Some of the folks that donated to the cause (all proceeds go to my church) are the type to hold on to everything, stick it in the basement and forget it type thing. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!
