Mike posted this on his Fur-Haven forum and also on is FA.
Quote: | Was out in my yard this morning and was hearing some rumbling far off sounded like. Several dips had happened earlier. When it began to rain I came in. About 5 mins later, no rain but the wind hit like a train. It lasted about 20 mins. and there was a lot of noise. When it died a bit I went back out to find that it had destroyed one of my out buildings, uprooted my next door neighbor's big pine tree and destroyed the neighbor across the street's solar heating panels.
Our storms usually come in from the south but this came out of the north. The Naval Air Station here in town I heard clocked it at 50mph.
Next door was lucky. The tree, about 50' high fell in their driveway behind both the vehicles there and away from the house and front deck, taking out half of another pine. They will need to get it removed before they can get the cars out. I just lost an out building and no other damage of consequence.
I hope the guy across the street had insurance since those solar heat collectors are smashed. I also have to ask him for the side cover from one of my coolers the ended up in his back yard.
Going to the store I saw several other out buildings mangled and the Home Depot had one of the front doors smashed.
It hit hard and fast. If you have seen a Haboob on the news, that is what we got. Could not see anything because of the blowing sand and dust. |
I know reading this will give some here much pleasure that he is having trouble. Most will not care at all. But I do know that he DOES have a few friends that have not quit PF -- YET. |

I consider Mike a good friend and I'm glad he's okay.
It was too bad he lost an outbuilding but it sounded like it wasn't much of a structure to begin with.

Ugh, good thing he went in and stayed safe. I got bashed in the head by a tree branch during a tornado earlier this year. It's not fun when that stuff goes down. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!
