I need your help!!!

I want to take a bunch of pictures, add music and make a video. The same sort of thing is on youtube and such all the time.
We tried Windows Movie Maker but it didn't want to make a file that could be burned on a dvd that could be viewed on any player.
We tried some movie thing on Linux (not sure the name off hand) and it didn't want to work with us.

Help! My deadline that I wanted to meet is very fast approaching. Anyone out there know of a good system or what to do to accomplish my goal? Help!

Ok I'll be honest I havent done this personally but I do know some who have and I can't get a hold of them at the moment but I do know a few things.

There is a program called Nero, good program from what I understand. If you go to there website there is a trial version of Nero you can try for 15 days or so should be what you might need.

There is also another program I've heard of called Roxio, I don't think they have a trial but they will also work.

However, if you want to shell out a bit of money, most big city will have some sort of company that will create movies for you from either or vhs, my mother did that and put various clips from about a dozen vhs to create a home movie experience. They cost a little but if you want it done right they would be your best bet.

I'll get back to you if I find out something new.

Unfortunatly IronTiger is jobless AGAIN and all the money I had managed to save up from the last job is getting rather low so I need as cheap as possible. Free is best.
