July-August'81: Beginning of the end... July 8th-Wednesday; Hussien, Kevin, Jaunita, Denise are waiting for me outside on Ft.Green and DeKalb. They also have a few former classmates, they all have finished registering for summerschool. Jaunita (Gloria) arrives a few minutes later, followed by Cathy. Though registered for summerschool to finally get their toilet paper diplomas, we agreed to meet and go to Coney Island together that afternoon. Finally Cecilia arrives, but I haven't. I was still inside awaiting the course of actions to be set for my piece of toilet paper. Even though, I have been through this before, maybe, just one more shot might set me free. I was denied. At least I was able to register for summer school with the rest of the class of '81. |
