I just got this today, playing on hard as per usual. Had one crash but the patch seemed to fix that (and as usual patches kill saved games, so patch first).
So far it has gone everywhere from fun to infuriating. Combat is more interesting now, and that's basically the whole point of the game. The atmosphere is really more conquest > zone this time. Hard to say yet how linear it is... not as much as the last one it seems but there are bits you have to do.
Hiding from emissions is probably the most annoying part of the game, as they seem to only appear where I can't find anywhere to shelter. To date I've yet to even work out what I can hide from them in because nothing I've been near enough to run to has worked. Fortunately, loading from my last autosave (they tend to appear when you enter an area but follow you if you run back) seems to get rid of them. I assume they're random or something.
Artifacts are insanely annoying until you get a better detector. And the Toz-34 is finally present, and is quite useful early in the game. |
