Thanks, Hikaru-san
Thinks aren't looking good for the tiger-striped skunk. That's a lot of debt to deal with. Can't wait for 26 to get a feel for where this is going.
Wishing you and yours a safe and happy holiday season.

Welcome...
I'm planning on putting 26 up on the 25th... so you don't have that huge a wait.

Maybe Thomas needs to invest in some more confining undergarments? Or perhaps a dose of saltpeter in his tea? (Yeah, yeah. I know that's just a myth that it reduces libido.) _________________ "Cogito, ergo es. I think, therefore you is." Ray D. Tutto (King of the Moon) to Baron Munschaussen |

WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIKARU!?!
(also: good to see new chapters again, love it) |
Remember, I spent November working on the story, so the double chapter is a month's worth of work plus some editing. _________________ Read my comic: http://www.ImperialGelf.com

I don't know if Hikaru intends to pursue this, but in the real world, there are various avenues for appealing the denial of coverage for Sheila's care. Insurance companies may have procedures and precedents that address 99% of situations, but there's always that 1% that just don't quite fit, that have to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. An employee who was missing and believed dead for nearly a year who turns up alive and having been kidnapped is one such scenario. It is quite possible that appeal to a higher authority within the insurance company may be all it takes - insurance companies aren't mindless bureaucrats to the same degree that government agencies are. But even if that fails, there is the option of suing the insurance company and seeing where the courts stand.
As for Sheila's car, unless there is theft involved it shouldn't be that hard to track down what happened to the car (whether it is recoverable is another matter entirely). _________________ mwalimu

I'm stoked to see a new chapter after so long. And a good chapter it was.
Poor Zig. I thought it was Sheila who's life was turned into a living hell. It seems like Zig is getting more then her fair share, from day 1.
One thing that keeps bugging me, and I haven't had a chance to search through the other threads, is the character of Thomas. Is that the same Thomas from Act II or is it really Arden? Sorry if this question has been asked a million times, but I'm really confused. As soon as I think I've figured it out, he goes and says something that makes me think differently.
The Anatol storyline is getting really good. But it is irritating that he can justify killing, but not his own feelings towards Sheila. I wonder how long it will be before he has to face those feelings...
On a side note, I think James Sheppard has too short a fuse. It seems like he's all too eager to get upset and start yelling. It seems out of character for him. It's usually Zig who gets pissed off and emotional.
But beggars can't be choosers. Keep up the good work! |

Drama tends to be the essence of my stories. In my 45 years running around on this rock, I've found that into every life. pain comes... sometimes more often and intense than other folks are used to.
It'll get better towards the end.

I've not directly come out and declared it as I like watching my readers squirm, but I have said that Arden isn't back yet and as Chapter 26, that still stands true.
Guess I'll fess up and say that the mouse IS the Thomas from Act II.

It's dogma. He's denying the feelings because the church demands it.

Remember that in my time line, James has been dealing with Zig's legal issues for a year, the entire time of which she was pretty much pushing him away to protect him. Now that those troubles are over, he's REALLY getting frustrated with the fact that she's still pushing him away.
I'm not intending to break them up, but you gotta wonder how long a guy will keep bashing his head against a wall for a woman..... even if it IS Zig Zag?
