CNCR is oldish, and nowhere near as fun as Battfield 2142.

I play with HW everynow and then, so you can catch me online sometime if yall start playing.

My user name is DarkeWolf Very Happy

Darke, why do you dismiss Renegade just because it's old? Renegade is more complex than most modern shooters, since it involves lots of tactics with weapons not found in modern day shooters.

Tell me, how many games offer you the possibility to sneak into a crippled base with an active-camo soldier, plant an ICBM homing device, defend it for 48 seconds and then witness it's awesome destructive power as it destroys a GDI Tiberium? Or watch your base annihilated by GDI X-66 Mammoths? OR bombard the helpless enemy with G-7 howitzers? Or burn the Advanced Guard Tower on Hourglass with a Flamer rush?

Right. No other game.

Oh, I'm not dismissing it because its old. I just prefer the more realistic (ish) actions of BF2142. BF, is extremly complex. I've used more RL military tactics in a battlefield game then in any other game I've ever played, negating RainbowSix 3, Ravenshield.

I'm not saying that these couldent be applied to any other FPS, but its more real then CNCR.

Fine, i'll shell out the 50 bucks for a damn copy, having played BF2 with Hurt, BFX, Lala, Tex and others, it is a load of fun.

Should try it out.

How about operation Flashpoint, Darke? Y'know, the one that was adopted as a training program as the VBS-1 I think?

2142 does have it's problems. . .but what game doesn't when it's first released? The EA team is fixing the problems as they come, but fixing one problem can cause 10 more to pop up so it's a slow process.

BF 2142 is both tactical and arcadie. . .unfortunantly since pub servers arn't organized it's more arcadie unless you've got a squad of friends to play with (who will actually work together). If you can get a half dozen friends together you can pretty much run over any opposition. . just because 8 times outta 10 the other team is unorganized and just running around like chickens without heads. The one thing that really sucks about it is that there is no difference in the actual gameplay compared to BF2 which basically makes it a very well done mod (that costs 50 bucks). Don't get me wrong. . it's still alot of fun with all the new vehicles, weapons, and maps but I wanna change of pace (having put in waaaay to much time into BF2).

I'm looking forward to Armed Assault which is basically Operation Flashpoint 2. Gonna be all about the tactics then. . .

Finally I can snipe without having everyone on the map know where I'm at just because the commander can see EVERYONE @.@ and. . .drop cars on them

Nice flaming there, Mikael.

I myself would take Battlefield 2142 over any other of the Battlefield series any day, simply for the reason that it is sci-fi. I don't like games based on actual wars. Those really happened, I don't have to play them.

Of course, that's a personal opinion.

I have to agree with HW on that one....Its a tic buggy, but hey, *echo* its still a pretty new game.

Its great forming a decent squad with friends, use real tactics, flank, formations, actual squad structure, ect, and whooping ass. And laughing while your doing it.

BF2142 offers me what I like most...real combat action warfare, and a slight hint of un-realism.
