Okay, as some of ye know, I'm a poet. These are some of the poems that I've been telling myself I need to get typed up.
Ache
I want it
so badly.
I don't know
what it is.
I just know
that I need
it.
It like someone
stole something
secret and
precious that I
had never seen
until it
was gone.
I have had this
for as long as
I can remember.
What is it?
Time
I want to
hold time.
What would it
feel like?
Soft and silky,
like a scarf,
or hard and solid,
like a rock.
Is it hot,
like a mug
of hot tea,
or cold,
like ice-cream?
Lion Girl
I love my hair.
I like to think
of it as my
mane.
A lion girl,
I am!
But unlike the
lion, I fear a lot of
things.
No Title
Sitting on the
dock and gazing at
the boats.
Late afternoon.
My friend and
I are enjoying
the interesting
boats,
and the sun
on my back.
The boards
are hot and
I have to move
in order to keep
my thighs from
burning.
These are my earlier ones, which I don't really think are my best, but I've been telling myself that I need to type these up at some point. _________________ All hail the queen of weeee!

Another one that kind of popped into my head.
Untitled
How does one stop
from becoming what
one fears the most?
How do ye stop from
becoming that which
you hate above all
else? _________________ All hail the queen of weeee!

Hi Freya:
These are interesting. I'm not much of a poet, and I know there are many styles of poetry, but I'm a little confused. Why did you choose to break your lines where you did?
As an example, in your poem Untitled:
Freya wrote: | How does one stop

How do ye stop from
becoming that which
you hate above all
else? |
If I may be so bold...
The doctored version, wrote: | How does one stop
from becoming what
one fears the most?
How do ye stop
from becoming that
which you hate above all else? |
Well, I guess poetry is more than cadence and rhyme. Maybe one can think of it as the ebb and flow of words as they swirl through the air--between speaker and listener. Ideas given life. I feel poetry wants to be read out loud.
