I do hope this story meets with everyone's approval.

Okay, here it starts;
"Scribe", Chapter 01 has been posted for your reading pleasure.
Hopefully I will be able to update this on a bi-weekly basis, as long as my kidney stone allows my attention for writing.

Ya know, I think a few people aren't commenting.
Or they're not reading, haven gotten enough of The Old Warhorse's writings to last them for a while.
Time will tell, since this one if for me. If only a few people read it, so be it.

Overrun by RL at the moment. I'll pick up reading it when I can give it the time and attention I'm sure it deserves.

Know what you mean by RL bowling you over. I'm dealing with another kidney stone. Not fun.

I just read the first two offerings of "Scribe." Without insinuating anything about previous stories, I must say that your craft has improved, my friend. Although it seems to me that your opinion of the government which claims to represent us and mine differ. In less than ten years to suffer what sounds like a nuclear attack by a global power, something that approaches another civil war, and an invasion by a technologically advanced off-world race, and the government still exists, let alone is still functioning? I am impressed.
Good stuff Kel. I'm looking forward to chapter three and the rest of the story, which feels like it is just beginning.
I hope RL is being kind to your backside, and the rest of you and yours as well.

Hey SC, just noticed this post so I will comment, without letting too much out of the bag.
The global incident is something that could conceivably happen, since China is the current 'greatest consumer' of oil. I could see them wishing to move from consumer to producer without asking if it's okay to drill on someone's property first. Right now, China is the biggest producer of counterfeit items, particularly fake Gibson Les Paul guitars. Too bad they are better than the stuff that comes out of the Gibson factory. I have had one in my paws and I have to say, at $450 USD, it kicked @$$ on a $5,000 USD Gibson. Fit, finish and playability were far superior in my opinion compared to that Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul. But I digress.
The USA over-run by a technologically superior race? I wouldn't say over-run but I would say, "They might be here for a few years." The Elazi are trying not to burden our resources by playing fairly with the rules and regulations. In other words, only the rogue element is being targeted by them and they do try to leave the place cleaner than they found it. The only thing they want to see is the elimination of the Reformed United States Army, or RUSA. You know, those characters that 'blew up' an Elazi ship? At the moment, the US government has more or less given them a green light to round them up. The government's role at this point is an advisory one only, sort of like we were in South-East Asia during JFK's tenure as president.
As far as Tor and Vicki are concerned, they will be in this story only in minor roles as shop-keeps in town, nothing more. Because it's the main shop in town, they will pop up from time to time.
If you've had time to read "Redemption", you will no doubt noticed some very familiar work in Epilogue 2. Gah, that piece you penned fit perfectly with the story flow. Thank you for adding to what was arguably the best story yet concerning The Immortal Warriors. However, there is one story left, one that will be different from the rest. Current working title is "Paw Full Of Dollars."
Anyway, I'm working of cleaning up chapter 3 of "Scribe" at the moment, now that the kidney stones have passed.

Mornin' to you, sir. Glad to hear the stones are behind you. May future stones only be found beneath your boots. I am looking forward to chapter three even as I depart for work. Catch up with you soon, Kel!
