Got this from a recent entry in this lady's LJ: http://cutelildrow.livejournal.com/

Wow, just wow! Definitely file that in the "don't see that everyday" category.

That's really cool! A bit creepy at first glance, though.

hehe, I like the last bit: "life can evolve without begetting plants or birds or cuddly mammals or sentient beings who write blogs on the internet; it just begets a glob of ooze."

That would certainly be a freaky sight to happen upon.

Goodness! That's scary. It will now evolve into giant man-eating insects and destroy all humanity!

10 points for Mog on that one Twisted Evil Anywho that's kinda cool looking, and it just goes to show that life can be anywhere.

What's REALLY interesting is the great, heaping list of comments and the ... um ... discussion going on about this amazing ooze.

We have "all kinds" on the web. Some of them think, some of them don't.

Usually any microbes that have spent a few hundred-thousand years walled off from the rest of the world, don't stand a chance when released. They've lived for so long without competition or pathogens that they end up starved out or gobbled up.

"And the waters shall run red as blood" <.< Yeah this is a creepy sight to look upon. Ancient microbs turning the water red. And We complain about red tide killing the fish. Are these microbes causing any harm or just tie dying the sea?
