Your post should contain one strip from a comic. You can choose to analyze or make a comment or even reply to the strip above, but you must post a comic strip.
RULES:
Do Not Hotlink (Upon being brought to my attention it makes sense, bandwidth costs money, let's help keep the comics we share at least in this aspect.)
If the strip you post is from a comic that hasn't been posted before, leave a link to the main page for the comic. (In case anyone is curious. P.S. Not necessary if the link is already here.)

Just a quick question:
Do the authors of these strips allow reposting? If no, did you get permission? If yes, did you follow the rules they laid down, such as providing a backlink or giving the appropriate (copyright) information with the strip?

The information is on the strip itself for both Cyanide & Happiness and LiCD.

Depends, I don't really read the copyright notices all that much, but MANY of them forbid reposting, which is what you're doing here.
Hotlinking is generally considered REALLY bad, because the original site still has to pay for the traffic without getting anything in return (wheter that is only the chance to give visitors the chance to view the "donate" button or to serve them banner ads).

The way I see it, this should be done this way:
1. Check that the author allows reposting.
2. Check that the comic doesn't break PF guidelines.
3. Download the strip you want to post, then post it here as an ATTACHMENT, not with the img link.
This thread is in serious danger of pissing off several authors.
I suggest it should be closed, and preferably also deleted.

You know, in all the other threads where art has been redistributed and comics have been posted?
Just curious why this particular thread got nuked and none of the others.

1. I don't read all threads here.
(I don't have the time, and many just doesn't interest me)
2. In this thread you're encouraging people to post copyrighted material.
You're not even bothering to post a link back to the site the comics are publihed on.
Never mind that a couple of them have the url as part of the graphic.
A lot of older comics have 'the wrong url' in them.
(The comic changes name, the author gets a new site and domain... )
And hotlinking is just about the ultimate insult...
Feel free to browse the archives of Buddies in Big Places to see how it was dealt with there...
(It's not that difficult to set up a rule to make a server replace the original picture with one better suited for hotlinkers... )
