Took a short break from coding at work to try out some icon creation/modification. These (try to) follow the BlueCurve style, which I really like compared to many other icon themes out there, whether it's for Linux or Windows.
 VMware Workstation
 VMware Console (GSX, ESX)
 VMware Disk File
These were only a quick job, and I'd like to finish them up sometime. |

I never could aford VMware, but those are some nifty icons for it none the less.... I never knew you as the VMware sorta fur there Whip.... hehehe.... definatly makes me regard you with that much more respect ::bows::

VMware is an Intel based PC emulator... for the PC. It allows you to run completely separated systems all on the same box.
For example, at home I use Linux on all my systems. But there are some instances where I need a Windows machine, or even another Linux machine, but don't have any other systems to spare. VMware lets me create a virtual machine, install the OS and software, and acts as any other system on the network. |

What the hell whiplash!
That's fcked up how you do such good icons?
Did you draw that from scratch or use a base of another icon existing in the theme to base these off of??
Those look like they are part of the icon set!

They are based on the actual Bluecurve icon set. Garrett LeSage (who did the original icons) has the original vector file (Adobe Illustrator) posted on his Red Hat People site.
I used some of the existing elements and modified them to look somewhat like the Windows versions of the VMware icon set. Mostly all I did was recreate the VMware logo as vector, modify some of the icons, and add a few other pieces. Overall about 30-40 minutes of messing around really... I hit a roadblock with one of the scripts I was working on, and had to do something else to clear my mind. |
