Yeah, maybe...

To change the subject, I need a new word processing program for my Palm. The one I used (Wordsmith) was great, but it was only a trial version and I don't feel like paying 30 bucks for it.

Can anybody recommend a good (prefurably free) word processing program for Palm OS?

I use Quickword it's part of Quickoffice there is a free trial for download and if you like it it's only $20 to buy.

I can second that - it's a great program, and it'll decode most formats. It also interfaces directly with Microsoft Word, if you're using that. Just a quick comment - it really helps to have one of the handhelds with a color screen; you can use the program with a B&W screen, but some of the icons look a little odd. But I'd say you have about 90% of the functionality of a full word-processing program right off the bat, and if you bother to read the manual, you can more than likely suss out the other 10%.

(I've used this one through three versions now - they updated me free of charge each time a new revision came out. Nice folks, too - if you e-mail 'em with a problem or a useful feature, you almost always get a personal response from someone at the company.)

Unfortunately only a Palm with a B&W screen is available to me and I won't be able to afford a new one for quite some time.

Well, it seems like I won't get around dishing out some money for a decent word processor...

Not a problem a problem it worked fine on my palm m105 B & W screen w/ 8mb of ram you will probably need to upgrade your palm PC sync program if your not already using 4.0 or higher.

*chuckles* Sorry, but I just HAD to see what the forum's censorship would make of that song Very Happy

That's one of the few good things about Germany. We get to hear that song on the radio uncensored while, as far as I've heard, they aren't even allowed to play it anymore in the US Wink

Hey, I didn't write that! I just copied and pasted it Wink

And besides, I'm following German verbal morality here and over here it's okay to say "frak* it!".

If you manage to get a hold of an actual copy of the Duden (German dictionary) you'll even find that nice little phrase in there. THat means "F**k it!" is officially part of the German language Very Happy

Oh yeah... I've heard that one. It's great Very Happy

BTW: What he says about the German origins is nonsense. I've never even heard of the word he claims to be the original word Smile

Well, I have another request. Some of you might know my Cateagle's World story "Trapped Cat". Of all my ongoing stories it's the one that has been on hiatus the longest, I think over 2 years by now.

Well, I need somebody to help me with it. I'm in a plothole and I cannot find my way out. I need someone trustworthy, for he would get to know the future plot of Trapped Cat in order to help me.

Normally I would just ask Pflarrian, but he's already got a workload of stuff to do, and I don't want to add to it.

Anyway, if any of you is willing to help a strugging amateur author, just contact me via IM, PM or a post here.

Thanks in advance

If you think I could help, and think I'm trustworthy, just let me know. Smile I'm usually okay at figuring out plotlines and I can share with Nahima, a fellow writer...

About a week ago one of my teeth started to ache. Not overly bad, but enough to keep me from chewing stuff without wincing. After some hackle and trouble with the people at work I finally managed to get some time off to go to the dentist last Monday.

First of, I fully admit that I did not take very good care of my teeth during my catling times. However, after three root canal operations on the same tooth, which resulted in the tooth getting removed anyway, I know that it's better to keep these little buggers in good shape.

Anyway, the tooth that's been giving me trouble was one of the ones where it's been especially bad. They had to hollow it out until the got to the nerves in order to repair it. So there was a possibility that the nerves died over the years and now some infection underneath the teeth came to be. Unfortunately the x-rays didn't show much and so the only way to find out was to hollow the tooth out again, seeing if it's alive the hard way.

The good news: It's still alive. The bad news: Since it's still alive it hurt much more after my visit to the dentist. I don't blame, her, it was the only way to be sure. However, that still doesn't mean that I like it.

Anyway, she put a few medicals on the nerves and then close the tooth, telling me to come back if the bad pain wouldn't go away until the next day or the light pain until next week.

As I said, that was last Monday. The bad pain is gone. The light pain is still there, peaking into bad pain every time there is pressure on the tooth. Ergo, I'll be paying my dentist another visit next Monday.

Seems like I'm in for another root canal torture - err - operation. Sad

I just hope this time I won't lose the tooth.
