This was posted earlier today by Zak's family.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear brother Zak Nine Nilsson. Zak was a talented musician and a generous soul, and he loved sharing his memories of dad with the world. We are comforted that he is at peace, though we will miss him so. We love you, Zak"

I'd phoned Zak last week to talk to him. He sounded so exhausted -- just tired of life almost, that it broke my heart.

Safe travels, my friend. I'll see you on the other side.

Hi guys. Been an awful long time since I've been in the PF scene, ever since I started working, I haven't had much time to myself anymore. I still run the Oh! Pawpets! Show every other Sunday though, but that's not why I'm posting right now.

I remember the day I found out about Zak Nilsson's passing. I knew he had cancer for a while, and I kept hoping and praying he would have been able to treat and beat this cancer into the ground. Things seemed to go well for him for a while, until his health started diminishing and some of his body functions shut down. I hadn't heard about any of that until much later though. Then, it occurred to me around that time that I hadn't heard from him on Facebook in a while and haven't even seen his online status in a while. I feared for the worst, and quite honest, I didn't even want to go to his Facebook page to see what his last video was, knowing that I may find something that would confirm my suspicions. I knew I had to suppress my fears and look into his Facebook posts to find out what was going on. Sure enough, I found the very video I was dreading to see, which was his "last words" video. That video was the hardest video for me to ever watch, and just a few short months later, Zak is gone. Sad Worst yet, I found this out while I was getting ready to head out to work. By the time I got there, I was in the store office crying as I told my manager what I had discovered. Every single day after that, I never stopped thinking of Zak and the things he's done and the happiness he shared with his friends and all the times we spent together chatting online. I especially cherished the times we used to DJ together. I miss Zak greatly, and there isn't a day gone by where I don't think about the memories we shared together. My thoughts are now about Zak and his father Harry, now happily reunited beyond Heaven's gate.

Rest in peace, Zak Nilsson. I'm so very glad to have been able to befriend you during your time on this Earth.
