Hmmm, a 'plane' with a blind pilot with two 'extras' - how big is the cockpit again? |

The cockpit is rather spacious, being almost sixteen feet across and set up for a full row of 'Observer Seating' behind the actual flight deck. Left to right is the auxiliary station, followed by tactical which can be communications, Pilot's station, co-pilot's station, another tactical/communications station, then another auxiliary station.
When Orange Detachment is flying Kamram's Fast Orbital Lighter, the six stations are occupied by the designated pilots and attendant tactical personnel in the right hand stations. Marlett would use the left-hand communications seat and Ronmet would be to his left in that aux station. He would be monitoring ship functions and shielding during possible hostile situations.
Up to eight more ranking personnel would be using the observation seating and the next compartment back would have seating for twenty-two more soldiers.
A Lestim Fast Orbital Lighter is actually is quite a bit bigger than Jeffrey guessed at some twenty-seven feet wide and seventy-ish feet long from bow to stern, excluding the Main thrust pods. There are partial upper and lower decks off of the main operations/flight deck so average height at mid-ships is almost twenty-two feet.
Mark twenty and higher ships can be equipped for Slipstream ("Rift") Travel by the installation of a Quantum Singularity Drive, which sacrifices some of the aft compartments that are private suites. The small galley becomes even smaller due to power plant encroachment. Kam's ship has this modification whereas Mevelia's is not Slipstream capable. It can only approach a fraction of light speed, somewhere in the neighborhood of seventy-nine thousand miles per hour. Good for short hops but in the weeks for travel to say, Phaarpoint Station.
So there you have it, a short overview of their ships. _________________ "Старый боевой конь, Кeллан" |

Hmmm, sounds more of a mini-bridge than a cockpit but that's one of the 'fun' things about science-fiction. |

When we last left our protagonists, they were being assisted in leaving the Trade Platform by the mate of the one holding them as chattel. Na'Krista was blinded by excessive contact with a Bil-created gas and Mevelia had just admitted she was not a pilot by any stretch of the imagination.
Let's read on to see how our recently joined couple gets out of this scrape, if they can even manage to do so.
So, for your reading pleasure, I present to you,
Chapter 32 of "Scribe"
Enjoy! _________________ "Старый боевой конь, Кeллан" |

Yes, you must remember to choose your radio channels wisely, lest you broadcast things that should be kept private. _________________ "Старый боевой конь, Кeллан" |

Ahhhh. recreational activities, too bad Andrew's didn't recall reading about claw caps but the glove (if done right) isn't a bad idea, just remember to leave holes for the fingerpads ...
Hmmm, the usual aftermath of the aftermath (nothing to see here, fixing what was broken [insurance works, usually]) ...
Erk, official notice has been given ...
Future Q-ship in the (re)making it appears ...
When playing the armor game, make sure all parts fit right the first time!
And finally, the business of business (get someone else to pay whenever possible) ... |

As for Od'Tra The Wise, No war was ever '...short enough for the winner or long enough for the loser...' (Although the Isreali One Day War may just fit into this).
Standing on a moving platform (without railings) is a decent challenge, adding unexpected twists, turns, or bumps in the 'road' (or any combination of the above) adds to that... |
