The old saw about 'Time healing all wounds' is true, it's more a question of scarring (and how much scar tissue) needs to be healed, and while healing who (and what) will keep picking at the wound to further slow its healing...
'The best revenge is living large' is also true, if hard to do... |

Aslaug, you are so eloquent. You are a true wordsmith, a very rare gem.
After reading your most recent post, it occurred to me that you brought an in-depth look at a situation that other publications would just gloss over, preferring to use 'sound bites' to convey their thoughts.
I read your post, twice. Since that time, I have reflected on both tragedies, both in Norway and Colorado. I would make a comment, but I'm still a bit emotional about the whole thing in Aurora, Colorado. You see, I have a small attachment to that suburb of Denver; I was stationed there when Lowry AFB was still an operational AFB. I is a wonderful area that is vibrant and full of life. For a sub-human to do such a heinous thing, it disturbs me deeply.

Ah, I think I see, the old 'why do people read the 'drek' I write?' bit (feel free to sub for 'drek')...difficult to answer...sometimes what the author writes just resinates with the reader (who may just stumble upon it or may be looking for it), or just go 'Why ask why' and continue onward...
As for other things - 'into each life a little rain must fall' seems to fit, although it may take a few years (or more) for the event (or series of) to be 'reduced' to little (if it ever does)... |

Does anyone wonder how a Viking with the 'goggle helmet' (such as the one mentioned in the stories about Aslaug) looks like?
http://norsemen-miniatures.com/sculpt_viking.html
A guy in Norway is preparing a new tin soldier for production, and this time the theme is viking with helmet and battle axe...
If it ends up as detailed as the other figurines, it'll probably end up as a must-have for anyone who studies that era seriously.
I'd offer to send one to our favorite filly, but frankly, I don't even dare ask the price... _________________ "My name's Lion, Anthony Lion"

Based on the hand in one of the photos, that sculpt is small and incredibly detailed. I smell big $$$.

The finished figurines are 54mm tall (slightly over 2")
The guy who makes them does everything himself.
Research, modeling, casting, painting.
Seems he also does his own webscripting, unfortunately.
It's only a hobby of his, so he has a normal job, too.
If he decided to go full-time he might be able to live off it, but with the main focus on Norway-related figurines, the market isn't that big, either. _________________ "My name's Lion, Anthony Lion"

Fikrann has just informed me that there has been a breakin, and that she's setting up the new server again and working hard on it, but I have told her to take her time about it and not stress.
I had no idea that had happened and I was a big surprise ... |

Was that a break-in, as in physical or an electronic breach of the servers?
If it's physical, well, that's a first for me! Never heard of a server being "Stolen" before so that why I ask.

As I understood it, it was a physical burglary. |
