What's funny though is that at the time of publishing the Morons-story there was already scientific consensus on the view that a large gene-pool would yield better individuals than a narrow one.
Even we mere moro... mortals can see that if we look at the health (and/or mental) problems in some of the purebred dog breeds. Similar can be said of some royal families that practiced inbreeding ages ago.
(I was hoping to find a strikethrough among the text formatting)

Wow, poor Cyril just can't seem to catch a break. I would think the police would have wanted to do a heavy search of Janines home as Cyril had mentioned to Jenna that he planned to go there that day and never made it home.

Really?
Well, perhaps I'm a sucker for happy endings.
Luckily we've still got Greg to wonder about (right? right?)

In any case Frazikar, and of course all those who spent a moment to post their considerations, thank you for all the comments and the interest you've shown!

I agree. This left more loose ends than one of my stories!

(but sometimes I intentionally leave a few loose ones . . .)

Very good story. Looking forward to Greg's story.

In chapter 106...

The two officers were quiet.

Sergeants aren't officers.

They are Non-Commisioned Officers (NCO)...

I tried to find some info on ranks and it's not all that clear to me, really.
I suppose that those of you who've served in an armed force will know perfectly well... this excludes me so I'm left to reading up on it for a bit.

Moreover, since apparently a Sgt. is supposed to be enlisted it wouldn't even make sense for Ricca to hold that rank.
Are there such things as 'honorary' ranks to be assigned to (scientific) personnel? And if so, what rank would it be?

In some services they have (or had) Warrant Officers which are somewhere between NCO and Officer. I don't know about any honorary officers.
