Tried it....

The page loaded very slowly(can be a problem with IE or my link, though)
The file generated easily enough(103KB isn't too bad) but...
It generated it in A4 format (210 x 297mm ) and no matter what I try, I can't seem to get it to go for another format(such as A5, which is 148 x 210 or thereabout)

This is a poblem as the kindle can't reflow a .PDF, so when you scale up to 150 or 200% to be able to read it, you need to scroll about sideways all the time.

If I want to move a story as single-chapter files to my Kindle, I'll just send the html-files, instead. (Amazon automatically converts html files for me)

Instead, why don't you look at www.mobipocket.com and their creator?
Then you can build a complete 'book' with table of contents, front page picture and everything.

It loads up pretty fast on a Netbook with Linux/Chrome. Guess it is the Browser.

How about the print version combined with a PDF Printer?

Considered it, but...

Couldn't be arsed to fire up the Mac today, and the office-supplied laptop runs WinXP with office 2003, so I'd have to actually INSTALL something...
(Feeling REALLY lazy today... )

Besides, a real Table of Contents would be nice, and a .PDF-printer can't make that.

I'm enjoying the story so far. Keep writing and I will keep reading.

This is almost a necropost, but . . .

Another way to get a PDF file is to use CutePDFWriter. It's a 'virtual' printer that will make a PDF out of anything that can send a document to a real printer.

Just sayin', since it's still freeware, as far as I know.
