My apologies for not catching your message sooner. It's been an exceptionally busy past few months at work...
I've seen correlating instances in the logs for CloudFlare stating that the site was down, but by the time I looked into it, the site and server were fine, and no sign of a reboot... so I can only assume there was an issue with connectivity between CloudFlare and the server.
CloudFlare is, at it's core, a reverse proxy, hosted in the "cloud". It forwards all requests to the server from there. It also hosts the primary DNS zone for the domain, so it can direct traffic appropriately. If there was an issue at CloudFlare's end (entirely possible, it is a beta service), or something between them and us, etc., that would result in this error message. It shouldn't require Firefox or any other browser to be restarted, so I can only think that it was an issue with timing or caching.
Again, I'm currently using CloudFlare knowing that it is a beta service. If issues do occur, I can report them. If they persist, I can revert back to the way I had the domain configured before.
I'm sending you my email in a PM, so if you see this happen again, let me know. |
