The topic for those who are incapable of major brain activity is stupid things you find posted or said online. That was obvious in the first post, it's been obvious in every post I have made ever since, and in a couple post made by intelligent members of the forum that manage to understand simple english and follow directions that even a child could. For those that are to busy proving my point of low intelligence on the internet and can't be bothered to follow a simple line of thought, go away, no one wants to hear it.

I tried being nice, I tried calmly steering the discussion back to where it was clearly supposed to be but obviously subtle and calm are to complex for some people.

Thread hijacking is against PF rules and will not be tolerated!!!

And commenting about those stupid things you find online, on the thread about stupid things you find online, is wrong? I thought that was the normal flow of any conversation, online, phone, or RL.

HA! Excellent. The first one (stealing from a spy store) reminds me of one I saw on tv where some guys stole from an electronics store; a bunch of cameras were on and recording, and they walked out with display peices that were just shells, no real components! Smile

okay princessB I'm lost .. I did not go off the subject. you posted a thread about how people assume stuff like world ending and I repled back saying yeah! I get those comments personally and I find it unnecessary to worry about the world ending. So, I referred to where my friend came to the conclusion about her theory of world ending. it is totally on the same subject. no hijiacking or changed subject.

You caused nothing Jaymee, you commented on the original posted stupidity, others decided to go off on a tangent, saying nothing about internet stupidity, clearly only paying attention to what they wanted to, not what the thread was about.
You participated in a discussion, others then came along and entirely derailed the discussion.

Imagine we're all together and I say; "I think the civil war is an interesting piece of history, what are everyones thoughts of various civil war battles?" You say "I agree the civil war was something interesting and worth discussing." Then suddenly the rest of the group takes off with "civil war era clothing was cool lets discuss the fabrics!"
It's entirely rude, topic stealing and inappropriate.

PrincessB, if you find that there's a problem with members hijacking a thread, you are not - I repeat - NOT to take matters into your own hands. You're playing the role of moderator when you have not been invited to be one - and that's not only bad form - it's a no-no.

More importantly, I invite you to read the entirety of the rules you just made a paraphrased quote from. Despite your rather low opinion of some of the folks who you feel have broken the rules, you joined their ranks by issuing flame-bait and engaging in openly hostile behavior. If you're going to call someone out for a rule break - make sure that you're not ALSO breaking the rules. For your (and everyone else's) convenience, I have posted a link to the forum rules HERE. Please take a moment to re-familiarize yourself with them as soon as is feasible for you.

As for those supposedly hijacking the thread - please feel free to open a new thread about the Mayan calendar to continue the discussion if you so choose, but as far as this thread is concerned - that discussion is OVER.

Thank you all for your immediate and permanent cooperation in these matters.

And if you read thoroughly I said "you CAN" as in if you choose to that is entirely up to you.

I never took matters ino my own hands other than telling people to follow the rules, if people continued to have problems with the rules then I would contact an administrator to shut the thread down. But when it's getting fairly regular that our administrators chew out the person asking for good behavior instead of the persons misbehaving it is no shock that people leave PF all the time because of that very reason.

Now could EVERYONE manage to keep on the subject, it's really not that hard of a thought.
I appreciate those that manage to follow the discussion and add to it despite members and admins continually pulling away from the original content.
