Well, if that constitutes flaming, then I'm sorry. I'm an arrogant bastard, and that needs to change. Now.

Second, I think Command & Conquer: Renegade is equal, if not greater, to Battlefield 2142 i terms of tactics. Without teamplay and at least basic plan, there is no possible way to actually win. Once we got essentially walked over by a single GDI engineer, who was lucky to have enough C4 to destroy our Hand of Nod and Power Plant, simply because we neglected defence.

And when attacking... it's extremely important to use combined arms tactics, which is evident when attacking a GDI base. Without coordinated artillery fire, light tank harrasment and flame tank raids, there is no way to win.

Your nuts dude Razz Theres no way in hell, not even a frozen one, that CNCR comes close to simulating (at any level) actual combat.

I -live- combat...I did it for a year over in Iraq, I study manuevers, armor placement, and artillery. I AM ARTILLERY Very Happy

I live, breath, sweat and bleed all that is tactical. I can name off at least 5 different infantry formations and whats the best situation to counter attack. I exercise MOUT, marksmanship, explosives training, vehicular combat, ect @_@

If you want to get picky, BF2 Modern Combat is the best combat sim there is. I've played most of them as well. Americas Army, Rainbow Six, and the slew of others. I just prefer BF2142 because of its sci-fi content. Its essentally the same as BF2.

Well, de gustabimus non disputantum est.

Random question: Predict how much military education helps in a Stalingrad 1943 scenario.

I have 2142 been a private for ever it won't promote me, or I'm doing something wrong.
Damn game won't keep my joystick profile. and dumped them in the middle of flying a team to the enemy titan.
Its definantly a game where you have verbal communications, hands are too full with everything else
Very Happy

Heh, the game itself invalidated all my opinions. It's good.

However, I was pretty much unable to shoot anything smaller than a battle walker, so I resorted to shooting enemy Titans and sneaking around taking over silos.
