ok, I am forthwith withdrawing my votes and declaring myself "Grand Poohbah flute player"
with that, I have reread the story from and think I know who it is. The style is reminiscent of Galadrion, but the sentence structure is not.
The feelings induced are similar to Concolor, yet have a hint of Shirh Khan in them. I think that this is someone well versed with our fine furs and has read them all.
So, Mike, my best guess is that Assa wrote this. _________________ "Do not Taunt Happy Fun God" -Cthulhu |

I still hold to my "guesses" - but I'll add this caveat: the reason I think it's one of those three is because of their writing styles. I'm not familiar with the styles of some of the others who've been mentioned (Jim Lane, Nahima, Kit Fox, others...), so it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be one of them.
Hm... based on writing style, Beau Wolff is also a contender, but I doubt it could be him, from the circumstances in his life right now. Take a fractional percentage from the other three, and put my guestimation of him as the mystery writer at about .06%. I think he would be quite capable of writing something of this nature, but I don't think he's had the time. |

ok, I read this thing a few more times. Like 6 or seven more.
Here's my thoughts
Tygon....Distinct possibility. His style is very good, and this is somewhat reminiscent.
Pflarr....Remote possibility. His style is more flowing.
SK... Nope. Stylisticly similar, but not quite.
Concolor...Could be...similar in tone
Nahima...Distinct possibility. Stylistically good, want more to verify.
Cheetaur...again, flows different with hints of his style...
Skunk Fox...nope, although he has lots of different writing styles...
Jbird...Are you kidding?
Beau... perhaps. His style is more prose based. There are hints of it in the background of the writing, but no, I don't think so.
KitFox...He hasn't posted a story yet, so...who knows?
Nova Fox...Has he stopped pouncing yet?
Fishburne...Well, although I like to write, I haven't hidden anything from myself. <like you would know> <shut up, you! I have the fingers now!>
TV DAVE...nope, no cute rabbit here.
Josh...no eclairs here <YUCK!!!!>
Mike...well, he has read all of the fine authors here and I suppose one could say that he could borrow from all of our styles. However, one could also say that about all of our fine furry readers!!!!
Assa...I haven't seen anything she has written yet. Who knows...
<If one would shut up, one might be able to guess!><last warning, head, try again and you get a sharp poke in the eye!>
So, again
I think its Assa.
Or Tygon
Or Nahima
Or Beau
AAACK!!!
ASSA it is.
Final answer
Regis, I hate you.
Die, Regis, Die!!!
Note: Apparently I have lost again. For all my ramblings, I never guessed it was Mike. Yes, It is now Wednesday and I do know. Great Job!!!! _________________ "Do not Taunt Happy Fun God" -Cthulhu

...and this tells us that you have something of the gift as well. I'm sure if you have other ideas, we'd love to see them written.
Let's put it this way, Mike. I haven't had the time to read all the stories available, what with so many of my own, the Adult Bookshelf, and that little annoyance called work. I want to go read Anthony's story after seeing that.

The Old Gray Raccoon - yes I did it. |
Heh!
Doh--- That explains why the writing style had me spoofed.
Good job, Mike! Let's see more of your efforts---!
