Chapter 10 – Dreamers

Rob stirred softly in his sleep, moving his legs more to the side as his tail erratically flicked. It had been barely an hour since his head had hit the pillows, but he was already long into dreamland. And from the pleased grin on his face it seemed that he liked what he found there.

Rob had been glad to get home, especially after dropping Blue off. Rob was already tired and not exactly in the mood for Blue’s ‘slumber party’ invitation. It was nothing new, of course. Rob knew quite well that he would be in for a long stretch of teasing from him about the night. Their ‘romantic’ dinner together, combined with the ‘very enjoyable’ time they spent in the car together had made for a ‘magical evening’, as Blue had put it. Rob had nearly lost his lunch, obviously suffering from the heebie-jeebies right up to when he walked into his apartment. But it only took a few glances at the posters in his room to get him back to his old self again. Rob had always treasured ‘his girls’, as he referred to them. He would just sit in bed, looking from one side of the room to the other, his eyes roving over the image of each actress: Tamara, Mia, Wanda, Zig Zag… ah yes, Zig Zag. She held the place of honor in his room, on the ceiling directly above his bed.

As with many a past night, ‘his girls’ had been the last images that had met his eyes before they closed for the night, still remaining afterwards during his descent into a pleasant slumber. And now, but an hour later, as big and happy a grin as any had ever seen was firmly plastered across his muzzle.

Whew! That’s better, Blue thought as he slung his now-slightly-moist towel over the doorframe. A nice, warm shower was just what he had needed. Afterall, trying to keep unnoticed is SO exhausting. Especially when you’re as adorable as I am.

Blue actually had arrived home earlier in the evening, but just simply had to watch the show he had set his VCR to tape. It was that week’s broadcast of WFWF Thursday Night ‘Showdown’, and a good one at that. Normally Blue would never miss his favorite show, but he had thought that seeing Josh on his first date just might be even better. He’d been right.

Blue gave his fur one last shake, just to make sure it didn’t have any wet patches left, and padded with that ever-noticeable bounce in his step out of the bathroom. As Blue half-bounced towards his bedroom, he stopped, turning his head to the side. There before him in the floor-length mirror, was his reflection; or to be more specific, the reflection of himself totally nude from the pads on his feet to the tips of his ears.

Blue had always enjoyed spending his time at home in the buff. It all started with ‘Nude Fridays’ back at his dorm room during his first year of college and finally ended with going to bed in nothing but a smile as a nightly ritual. Admittedly, it was much more fun when someone else was there to enjoy the view (not to mention other things) but he didn’t mind; just feeling free and unrestricted was good enough for him.

Blue grinned and turned his body fully to the side, doing a few of his favorite sexy poses.

That handsome kitty is taking me out as soon as he gets back into town. I have to make sure I’m at my cutest. Blue thought as he turned and lifted his tail. He grinned smugly and giggled as he gave a couple shakes of his tush. Who am I kidding? I’m too cute no matter what I do.

Blue was about to pad away when he stopped again, turning back to the mirror. He grinned for a moment before stepping back a few feet to the other side of the hallway. Pressing his buns against the wall and thereafter his shoulders, Blue lightly arched his back and crossed his legs in front of him. He took a moment and placed his most sultry, fetching look firmly on his muzzle before playfully moving his paw back over his cheek and to his ear, ruffling his headfur ever so slightly.

Blues kept focused on his reflection the whole time, finally standing upright again and continuing down the hall.

Well, that settles it; Joshy’s nuts. Blue decided as he entered the bedroom. How could I not get a kiss for that?

"Still busy?" Cindy asked, lifting her head up from the pillow.

"Yeah," Debbye sighed, hanging up the phone. "Who could she be on the phone with? It’s been over three hours."

"I don’t know," Cindy answered with a yawn, the hour quite rapidly beginning to catch up with her. "The only furs I know of that she talks to this long are us."

Debbye stared at the phone for a long moment; her chin resting on her folded paws as she held herself propped up on the bed with her elbows. "Think Sabby called her?"

"Are you kidding? This late? I don’t think Sabby has ever been awake past midnight in her entire life," Cindy almost laughed, but it was interrupted by another yawn which broke it halfway through. "And if she did, I’d bet anything it had something to do with that fiancé of hers." She added with a grin.

Debbye placed her paw to her muzzle, giggling. "Wouldn’t surprise me. Seeing as he’s getting her to leave Colombus, I’m almost afraid to think what she’d be willing to do for him."

Cindy’s grin kept firmly in place. "Well, we already know some of the things she was willing to do for him, don’t we, Deb?"

"Oh! That’s right," Debbye blushed, her paw moving to cover her cheek. "I still can’t believe some of the things she told us… I mean, she’s Sabby!"

"I know; I never expected her to do nearly any those, much less tell us that she did! Not that I’d mind doing a few of them myself some day," Cindy’s expression softened as a few of them went through her mind, along with a rather pleasing image of her boyfriend.

Debbye’s blush remained as she turned slightly away from Cindy’s direction. "I couldn’t even believe that first story. You know, that he tied her up for their first time."

Cindy’s grin took on a heightened degree of smugness. "Well, that kinda shocked me, too… at first. But now I can’t say I’m surprised in the least."

"You’re not?" Debbye turned back to Cindy, her embarrassment replaced with more than apparent surprise.

"Nope," Cindy stated very matter-of-factly. "The little signs kinda tipped me off."

"Signs? Like what?" Debbye asked, looking curiously towards her.

"Oh, come on," Cindy giggled. "You never noticed anything peculiar about her fur?"

Debbye thought for a moment before shaking her head. "No, I don’t think so."

Cindy sat up on the bed so that she was directly as eye-level with Debbye, her knowing grin firmly in place as she spoke. "The fur on her wrists…"

Debbye looked somewhat puzzled. "What about it?"

"It was matted," Cindy continued after Debbye’s expression failed to change. "I don’t think that was the only time they had that kind of ‘fun’."

Debbye’s eyes widened and she sat there, motionless. "You really think Sabby’s… IN TO that kind of thing?"

Cindy’s grin widened a bit. "Oh, come on. You can’t honestly tell me it’s never crossed your mind before."

The red hue in Debbye’s cheeks returned in force. "Well…, uhm…"

"I thought so," Cindy just kept on grinning and decided to let Debbye’s blush subside a bit by changing the subject. "But back to Sabby. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if she were ‘in to’ that kind of thing now. Though I’m sure she picked it up from him… but who knows? Maybe it’s the kind of thing that grows on you after a while."

Debbye thought silently as she scooched up a bit further. After a moment she shrugged and lay back against the pillows. "Maybe. I guess I’m a little old-fashioned in certain ways. I just like to think of the romantic side to things."

Cindy lay down on her tummy, propping herself up with her elbows as she looked off dreamily into space. "Well, I think that could be romantic, too. If it were done right, anyway."

"The right fur, too," Debbye added, folding her arms as she sank back a bit into the pillows and sighed.

Cindy noticed the sudden sulleness of Debbye’s demeanor. "You okay, Deb?"

Debbye nodded, sinking back still a little deeper into the pillows. "Yeah, I’m fine. Just… thinking."

"Anything you want to talk about?" Cindy sat up, shifting her weight so that she didn’t end up sitting on her white fluffy tail.

"It’s just that…" Debbye hesitated for a moment, still looking down. "I’ve been feeling a little lonely lately. It just seems like I’m the only fur I know who doesn’t have a special someone," She explained, gesturing towards Cindy. "I mean, you have Clare… Sabby has Chris… I just feel a little bit left out."

"Aw, come on, Deb," Cindy got up and plopped down next to her friend, scooching back into the pillows. "We all feel like that sometimes. Susan doesn’t have a boyfriend right now, either."

Debbye almost laughed. "Susan can have any guy she wants… I haven’t gone out with a decent guy in weeks."

Cindy placed her paw reassuringly on Debbye’s shoulder. "Don’t worry about that. I’m sure you’ll find someone who makes you happy."

"Yah, I know," Debbye smiled weakly, looking up to her friend. "I’m just getting a little tired of waiting, I guess."

"Yeah, I think everyone’s felt like that a some point," Cindy nodded understandingly. "I certainly did for a while."

"You know, when I was eleven years old, a couple friends of mine had a slumber party at my house," Debbye’s expression took on something of a tenderly distant look, small smile forming across her muzzle. "The whole night was a lot of fun. We stayed up late, gossiped and talked, did each other’s hair, snacked all night; you know, the normal stuff. But one thing we did that night was really special to me. We all sat around the bed and decided what the guy of our dreams would be like."

Debbye maintained her expression and continued. "Each of my friends went, one-by-one. Most of them were pretty simple; handsome, rich, funny, things like that. When it got to me, I didn’t have to think about it. I wanted someone smart, someone strong and confident, a good listener, polite, a real gentlefur," She paused and brought her paw to her lips to stifle a giggle. "And he absolutely had to love books as much as me."

Cindy continued listening all throughout the description, giggling at the last quality named. "Quite a list."

Debbye nodded, visibly feeling slightly more at ease. "I know it’s silly, but I still kinda hope I can find a guy like that. Just holding on to my childhood dreams, I guess…"

Cindy placed her paw over that of her friend’s, smiling warmly. "I don’t think that’s silly at all, Deb. You should never give up on your dreams. For all you know, that dream guy might be just around the corner."

Debbye turned her head in Cindy’s direction, looking thoughtful. "You really think so?"

"Of course!" Cindy reassured her. "Who knows? You might even walk into him before the week’s out."

"Doubtful," Debbye giggled, squeezing her friend’s paw. "But thanks for listening. I really appreciate it."

Cindy gave squeezed back, smiling. "Hey, we’re friends, Deb. It’s the least I could do."

Debbye allowed herself to slide down a bit into a more comfortable position as a laugh found it’s way out of her muzzle. "You want to know something funny?"

"Sure," Cindy nodded, turning her head.

"I was going to ask Josh out," Debbye laughed again, pressing her shoulders back against the pillows.

"Susan’s date?" Cindy asked, her expression showing a cross between surprise and amusement.

"Yep," Debbye giggled. "She beat me to it."

"That’s funny; I’ve never known you to ask a guy out… Susan either, for that matter," Cindy laughed. "That settles it, I have to see this guy."

"I’m sure," Debbye stated, attempting to stifle another giggle. "Do you think if they don’t hit it off I can still try?"

Cindy’s mouth dropped open. "Oh, really?"

"What?" Debbye grinned, folding her arms. "It’s not like I’d try if things were going well."

Cindy giggled, shaking her head. "I really have to see this guy."

Debbye kept on grinning, shrugging her shoulders before checking the time. She sighed as she picked up the phone again. "I’ll try one more time. If she’s not off by now, I’m going to sleep."

Where is it?!? Blue thrashed furiously through the laundry basket, throwing dirty clothes left and right. He couldn’t find it anywhere. He had checked his dresser, the living room, the hall closet and even the bathroom; it was nowhere to be found.

Come on, come on! Think! It has to be around here somewhere! Blue thought as he reached the basket’s bottom without any sign of it. He turned and paced back and forth, thinking hard about where he may have left it. He looked about the room quickly, his eyes roving over each spot in the bedroom where he could have left it. Maybe he had hidden it somewhere and forgot about it… but where?

Blue sighed deeply and flopped back onto the bed, pouting severely with his paws in his lap. He sniffled once as he looked over to the nightstand, seeing that he had been searching for a good hour or so now. Suddenly, his eyes flew open. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a very small bit of blue and yellow cloth sticking out from behind the nearby pillow. Blue jumped up instantly and pounced on it; throwing the pillow aside and snatching up the cloth.

"There you are, Blanky!" Blue exclaimed happily, pulling it to him and holding it to his chest. He had kept his childhood blanket with him ever since he was little and just simply wasn’t able to sleep at all without it.

"Blanky, Blanky, Blanky, Blanky, Blanky," He repeated gleefully, cuddling the old, worn blanket in his arms. Seeing as he had slept with it nearly every night since he was barely five years old, the fabric was unarguably tattered to some extent. But Blue had been good to his ‘Blanky’ and had actually learned how to sew for the sole purpose of repairing the tears, rips and holes that accumulated over the years. With practice, he had become quite accomplished at it, extending his talents to T-shirt alterations and making his own clothing for certain ‘choice’ occasions. He had patched and sewn it more times than he could remember, but with enough of a degree of skill that nearly the only noticeable effects of time on it were the faded colors and one small patch of cloth on the underside which clearly didn’t match the blanket’s pattern.

Blue grinned from ear to ear and bounced up and down on the bed, so happy to have found his most treasured possession safe and sound. Now he could finally get a little sleep. He pulled back the covers and scooched into bed, drawing them back over his legs and about halfway up on his tummy. Blue paused momentarily as he saw the clothes that he had left strewn about during his frenzied search.

I’ll pick those up in the morning, He thought as he sat in bed, his ‘Blanky’ under his left arm. Blue turned his head, checking the clock again and thinking.

Let’s see… it’s late, I’m completely nude and I’m tucked into bed… time to call Robbie! He giggled, reaching over to the phone with his free paw.

"Would you like a little more, Master?" Purred a sultry voice as a set of silky fingers ran through the fur on Rob’s tummy.

"Oh, Wanda, I believe I’d like a lot more of those, indeed," He responded airily, opening his mouth wide and allowing his tongue to flick out.

The voluptuous vixen rose slowly, standing over where he lay back against the grand pile of soft, fluffy pillows. She leaned forward, looking down into the ferret’s eyes as her paw moved around behind her in a very calm, unhurried fashion. Wanda slowly brought forth a small glass filled with the reddest, juiciest cherries one might ever see. Taking one very delicately between her fingers, she lowered it into his waiting mouth, the same sultry smile not leaving her for even the slightest moment.

Rob took it in with his tongue eagerly, munching it between his teeth and swallowing the juices as they trickled down his throat. He rolled his shoulders as a pair of extremely talented paws, belonging to a very tawny gray-furred bunny, methodically worked over every muscle on his upper-body. A nicely shaped skunkette with glasses with an exquisite tail stood at his left as a petite, redheaded squirrel flanked his right. They each waved a fan in his direction, cooling the euphoric ferret. Kneeling beside him were a skunkette with an absolutely astonishing striped fur-pattern and a ravishingly beautiful lioness, each just staring longingly at him, occasionally caressing one of his legs. All of the gorgeous females were scantily clad, if clad at all, and all seemed to share an identical expression of longing and seduction. Rob lay back, surrounded on all sides by the beautiful femmes, wearing a pair of jeans.

As he sampled a second cherry, an extremely busty vixen sauntered up behind him, placing her muzzle right next to his ear.

"More milk, Master?" She asked, holding up a pair of huge jugs nearly overflowing with milk.

Rob swallowed, nodding in approval. "Very well, Sheila."

She grinned and bowed, moving around to his side in such a way that all the right parts were moving. But she accidentally tripped, spilling a tiny amount of milk on Rob’s jeans.

"Oh! Forgive me, Master! I didn’t mean to," Sheila apologized profusely, bowing her head again.

Rob didn’t flinch at all, and instead just motioned to the worried vixen with his paw to tell her all was well.

"Awww, poor Master," The lioness expressed concernedly, resting her chin just above his knee. "Let’s get you out of those wet clothes."

She then kneeled up in between his legs, sliding her paws up to his waist and slowly undoing the top button. As she continued unbuttoning his jeans, she moved her head closer to them, only a scant inch or so away as she undid the last button…

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

Rob sat straight up in bed, his right eye only half open. His body was stiff as a board with every muscle seeming to be hard-locked in place.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

His head jerked in the direction of the phone, his strained arms making no attempt to pick it up.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

His arm lunged out in one jerking motion, grasping the receiver and holding it up to his ear, his paws almost shaking with rage.

"…Hello…" Rob spoke in a very smooth, but obviously strained tone of voice, his body as stiff as a board.

"Hey, Robbie!" Said the voice from the other line.

"… Blue…" Rob slowly droned out, not moving so much as a muscle in the rest of his body.

"Yep, it’s me! Just about to go to sleep; thought I’d call you," Blue explained, a stifled giggle audible afterwards. "I didn’t wake you, did I?"

"…yes…" The ferret droned, his right eye starting to twitch.

"Oh, I’m sorry!" Blue exclaimed apologetically. "I didn’t mean to."

"…that’s okay…" Rob said just before he repeatedly slapped the mouthpiece down on the edge of the dresser.

WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!

Rob then calmly placed what was left of the mouthpiece up to his muzzle. "…I forgive you."
