Chapter 13
I’m
walking and I see a knight in black armor in the distance of a field where wild
flowers grow.
I
stop and the knight rides closer and closer to me and soon I can see his eyes
threw the helmet, their golden, and his horse stops near me.
I
reach out and touch its forelock and it nuzzles my hand with its mouth before
putting its head down to eat.
The
knight dismounts and walks towards me and knells at my feet. Before
taking his helmet off to reveal light brown hair that covered his head in a
thick but short cut hairstyle.
He
raises his head to show his golden eyes and I am taken back by what I know they
think, they think love.
He
lowers his head once again and says. "I am Prince Stagmaro
and I hope to gain your hand, Princess Sidra, for you
are the queen of my soul."
I
step back by the handsome mans words, the man that had vowed to Saka that he would court me one day. I looked around for Covan but was alone on the plain with Stagmaro,
yet I was not afraid as he walked up to me and took my face in his hands, his
age is young but his eyes holding wisdom beyond any mere creature other then
the dragons.
And
I wondered how he did not age for his years are many, I had known of him to be
youthful as I was a child.
But
not much of anything made perfect since these days, I was lost in thought and
before I knew it the stranger whose eyes I was lost in, lip's touched mine and
I couldn’t stop it, I backed away started crying, thinking of Covan, my
husband to be.
And
I looked to the sky and screamed as fiercely and loud as my lungs could endure
and then it felt like something pushed me. My legs became no use to me and I
twisted in the air helplessly as the ground came closer and closer my heart
beating in my ears and a voice came like no other that
I had heard before.
"Let
go." I said and I felt myself panic for a second and then my body relaxed
and my sense took over. My shirt ripped away and wings pure white wings came
from my back between my shoulder blades, a felling of relief came to know that
they where there.
I
closed my eyes as the ground came closer and closer, my body reacted and I
sailed feet above the ground before rising higher into the sky and opening my
eyes. This was no land familiar to me. There were red cliffs and a river that
looked black. I went to grab my emerald and felt my hands where wet, I glanced
down at them before me and saw blood covering them, I panicked and looked at my
blood stained wings, that when I heard it the yell of panic and pain, Covan's yell saying
"Sidra!"
And
the arrows flew towards me but did not harm me, tears ran down my face to the
world far below, this blood was not mine it was.
