Hey, sweet, another "Aaron!"
No one ever spells my name right. My driver's liscense used to say "Arron" before I got it fixed, and people confuse my name with "Erin."
At work, there are three people in my section with names pronounced "Aaron," but none are spelled the same. We have Aaron, Erin, and Arin. We simplify it by saying "Ron," "E-Rin," and "A-Rin."
I have been called Erik, Evan, Aiden, and even Eragon ( ) by people who misheard my name. _________________ My FA |

I am too embarrased by my "exotic" middle name. It's a native word, but I always put it as my middle initial, "Y".
Good thing is that I can rearrange my initials to spell "Roy". I like that name. _________________ Hey, Sony... IT'S PAYBACK TIME!

My first given name is the letter J. No initial, no period, it's not short for anything--my first name is simply the letter J.
My parents always called me by my middle name, though--and today I still go by my middle name. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

That is just plain wrong. Both my parents are German and one of my first names is Italian and the other is Greek.
And no, there is no list of allowable names in Germany, but I am pretty sure that there is a list of names that are not allowed. Plus, it is up to the guys at registrations to deem the name you have chosen for your child allowable. What, considering what stupid names some people want to give their children, is a good thing. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

I read that on a German baby names website. Being "on the ground" in Germany you would know better than I.
The restriction may have been that you needed to pick a name which is common in Germany rather than a German name. I vaguely remember a major criticism of that law/rule is that if you had a non-German marry a German and live in Germany, then they could not give their child a name common in the non-German spouse's homeland. I was supposed to stop stupid names but also blocked uncommon but otherwise valid names.
Anyway, that's (approximately) what I read. The law could have been a hoax, or repealed, or is only selectively enforced.
My cousin named his first daughter Amber Jade Davis (he's into precious stones), which isn't too whack unless you see the name as a whole and understand who he is.
The spawn of Frank Zappa: Moon and Dweezil have been mentioned, but their numbers total four: Moon Unit Zappa, Dweezil Zappa, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan Zappa, and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen Zappa. All have a pages on IMDb (the Internet Movie Database).

My mom and two cousins go by their middle names because they hate their first names.
I have no memory of what my cousins first names are, I've always known them by their middle names.
My moms first name I'm not supposed to ever say (she says ONLY the government is allowed to ever call her by that name) but suffice to say it is a name that tends to be more of a nickname given to guys, and it was more than likely given to her out of malice from her mother.
But them going by their middle names does make it so I have Grace (mom), Hope and Joy in my family! _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!

I had a co-worker named Mike Regan in Sunnyvale, CA. I was only there myself for four months but was in touch with him now and then for several years. _________________ mwalimu

I knew a guy who had 5 or 6 names, first, last and 3 or 4 middle names. His first name was odd (can't remember off hand) so he went by a middle name. When he had to fill out paperwork he often had to pick a name or two to leave off because there was no room.
My family has experienced the trouble of same names. My grandfather is Clarence F Krueger (not sure what the F stands for) my Dad: Clarence Benjamin Krueger (added SR after he had a son) my brother: Clarence Benjamin Krueger JR (or II) At one point my grandpa had 5 years paid subscription to Readers Digest because my dad and brother here in Tennessee kept trying to get a subscription and the company would instead just add it to my grandfathers subscription in Nebraska. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!

When I was younger most of my greatuncles and auntes called me Matthias and not Tobias (that changed when I begun to ignore them and answered them only when they spoke my real name or my nickname Balu.)What I know is that a guy with my name lives nearby, I get sometimes his post but I have never met him.
And the law about German names was when we had WW2 now you can name your kid
in any language with any name the only thing is that the child can live with the name
comfortably.(Thatīs what I last read about the theme.)
But some people top all like this guy:
James Dr. No From Russia with Love Goldfinger Thunderball You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty's Secret Service Diamonds Are Forever Live and Let Die The Man with the Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy A View to a Kill The Living Daylights Licence to Kill Golden Eye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day Casino Royale Bond
And no that is not a joke that is his real name changed it legally last year in GB _________________ Whether a black cat brings misfortune or not, depends on whether one is a fur or a mouse.

Around the low class citizens you find names like Usnavy (You can play around with that and see what you get), among others nearly the same.
Me, i only have my middle name being Andre. Not weird but very uncommon here. The one that gets misspelled is my first name, Giovanni. Worst case was Jobany.
My grandma was called Bertilda though, and i know someone named Climaco so i do see my share here.
I knew a law here from the church (no longer actively enforced) where children had to have at least one christian name (A saint's name). _________________ __________________
