Well, I'm fairly hard at work already. I have the prologue done, and the first nine chapters have been edited. I was quite shocked at the amount of booboos I found...
The use of words like 'hands' or 'personally'...*shudders*, not good enough! I've fixed those where I've found them, as well as a few other things. The book version won't include the glossary, since it'd look kinda silly ending each chapter with a long glossary like that, and since I have gotten better at writing the meaning of something into the text itself
In some places, I do major fixes of entire paragraphs, in other places I just rephrase something slightly or remove a comma. All in all, this is going to be a much more coherent version of a book I already rather liked the storyline of |

Will you at least include the glossary at the end, or somewhere in the book? I rather liked the historical insights and explanations. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

I can include the glossary at the end of the book, as an appendix, provided Mike thinks it's okay. I'd still slim it down a bit, but I could do it that way... |

I think a concise glossary would be a welcome appendix, Aslaug.
Not all the potential readers are as widely rounded in their reading as those who may comment on your stories.

I ran into Bastion on the train home from work today, and I mentioned that possibility to him too. He thought it was the best option as well, so I will definitely do that, unless Mike vetos it |

I'm halfway through the chapters by now. Once I've done that, I'll be putting it all into one long file and make sure that I stick to either English or American spelling all the way through (the o/ou in honor/honour, armor/armour and so on) and I'll do the glossary...which is going to be more comprehensive than the original where I kinda forgot to do the glossary after chapter 13 or so. However, each individual entry in the glossary will be considerably shorter than some of the ones in the original. I spent over a page of text on rambling about who Hannibal was for instance. I won't do that this time |

Heh, good answer Filly. As I told Aslaug on IM, I didn't expect "Reunion" to be included in the book. If it resides on her site as tribute to story and author after the the book is published, then I'll have acheived what I set out to do with it.

A quick search didn't show the Reunion story on the Axe Shed, nor is it on TM's site. Since I don't remember reading it, where can I find a copy?
Aslaug? TM?

I think Bastion might have taken that one down too. However, it WILL be reposted once the book is published and until then, I'm sure Tigermark can supply you with a copy, or post it on his site as well |
