A continuation of the rants, ramblings, and occasionally useful or interesting stuff from my pseudo-blog. This is the place to comment about whatever it is you find at the 2008 pseudo-blog that strikes your fancy.

<smiles> Workin' on it, buddy. Stick around for a bit. And don't let The Fox catch you with your feet on the furniture...

Good to hear from you, Teric. It's been a while. My fault, I know, so thanks for coming to find me.

SC

*rummages around in the fridge* HEY TERIC! I'm making a snack and getting a soda, want anything while I'm here?

Oh, and get a footstool. The Lady Fox will indeed turn your scaly hide inside out and make you into a pair of boots of you scratch one of her tables.

Silver Coyote?

As in, the Silver Coyote's Links? It was your web page that led me to RBS, and subsequently, here!

[Shakes paw] Thanks!

<tips hat>

You're quite welcome, Onic. Glad my site and I could be of some help, and I'm glad you had a good time visiting the ol' raccoon's Bookshelf.

And welcome, then, to The Range and our forums at PF!

SC

*quickly puts his feet down*

Ah, um. Yeah. Don't want to incur the wrath of the resident vixen. Sorry about that, guys.

*calls back to Tigermark*

Hey, yeah--got any root beer? And what's this about a pair of scaly boots!?!

Thanks, Kel.

I've been dropping by your blog spot almost daily (at some fairly ridiculous hours) to check up on your activity as well.

Its quiet here right now, most likely 'cause I've no time for any serious writing. But I try to blog a bit now and then just to let folks know I'm still alive...

Thanks for checking in, amigo!

SC

Just read your blog...

Ouch!

I remember when my dad had to go in for a double bypass.

Not a fun time.

Is your dad taking any supplements containing Omega3 fatty acids?
some tests and studies seems to indicate that it can slow the progression of Alzheimers. (In addition to be considered generally helpful to the old ticker)

Oh gosh, SC! What can I say? It hurts me just reading your blog. Sad I don't think I have appropriate words to express the sorrow I feel at your recent news.

My heart goes out to you and your family. Is there anything I can do? I'm not too far away, if you need an extra paw to help out.

I put a shout out to ya on my blog-

It suffices to say that we (my Tigress and I) will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My Fox and I appreciate the love and concern you send our way, and I will pass that on to my folks as well.

Anthony, my dad takes a lot of things, results of the various surgeries he's had over the years. Aricept and Namenda for his latest problem, Lipitor and Coumadin are a couple of the other things he's taking, but I know there's a couple more. I'll ask about the Omega 3 stuff. I've heard similar things to what you report.

Teric, I know you're there, my friend. For you, and all the rest of my friends, I can only apologize once again, hold out my paws, and say "they're full." And there's only so many hours in a day. The only reason I'm at the keyboard right now is because I managed to arise earlier than the rest. The demands haven't started falling into my bucket just yet. But my daughter is bustling around now, and we have places to be at 0800, so my time is already getting short.

I will strive to maintain some sort of communication with each of you as I am able. I've already whined a little bit in Kellan's ear, and owe the Filly an e-mail after I edit the rants and howls out of it. And I suppose I ought to get in touch with Mike and let him know that as sporadic as my posts of The B Team used to be, they're going to be more or less non-existent for the foreseeable future. Such is the load-shedding I am implementing these days.

There is an up side. My dad seems to be responding well to the medications he is taking for Alzheimers, and he is living pretty much as he has been for the past several years. Some of my tasks are pleasant, like taking walks with him, or going to air shows or fly-ins with him, or just helping he and my mom unpack and unload the ever-present boxes of stuff from their move. Their new house has finally become a home for them, there are more rooms without boxes in them than with. And I managed to find the boxes in the warehouse that contained my mom's old recipe books and the implements of her culinary craft, so I'm sure there will be bigger smiles at meal time as well.

We count the small blessings as mighty victories. It gets us by.

Another hidden gift in all this is the realization that we, my Fox and I, are not as alone as we might have thought. We're realizing again what a community of friends we have, and what they are really worth.

Thank you all.

SC

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Anyway, you may be approached by more or less 'well-meaning' people trying to sell you something called 'Noni-juice' which they'll claim helps in just about any situation...

Feel free to shoot to maim.

Here in Norway they've tried to sell the stuff to Cancer patients, and even people with Aids. There has even been reports of more gullible people quitting their normal medication to go on an 'exlusive noni-juice' treatment. Needless to say, it didn't work.
