Last month, me and my foxy went through an ordeal including hospital time. During that time, I had created a thread here to notify the PF users. I titled it "Simple Request". The support and well wishes that poured forth from PF for Journye was amazing to say the least.
So, with the help of other mods and admins, I have created a new sticky here, as you can tell, called "The Shoulder". It is this thread's intent to be the gathering place for when something bad happens, and some support is wanted.
Thanks again to those who have already shown their support, and thanks in advance to those who will use this thread!

something bad....i guess its not end of the world stuff..but for the moment its pretty overwelming.
My dog(raised from a pup) has started developing...cat issues, and i own a cat..everytime she sees a cat outside, she decides she wants to tear something to pieces..two or three days ago now, she bit me..fairly badly..and it hurts to even type this. well since then my granmother has laid the responsibility on deciding what we do with the dog on me, and i don't know what to do..the only realistic thing i can think to do is get rid of her, but i know she'll get put down.. i don't want that to happen.. but i refuse to get bit again.
now, everything just came to a head...just the mention of the dog gets me riled up..i get very angry and can't control what i say..i start yelling simply because the frustration of the situation is getting to be to much..and now i'm the bad guy because i can't think of a plan to get rid of her that doesn't involve her getting put down..
(similar thing happened a couple months ago. but i decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to give the dog a second chance because it had never happened before.) _________________ No touchy! |

GRRRRR that's rough! I'm so sorry! Perhaps obedience school would be the answer...?
At any rate, losing a beloved pet is no fun at all. I've been through it three times now, and it never gets any easier. _________________ Styx: "Oh sure like flaming a dragon going to do massive damage, brave challenge there Teric." |

I hope to get a my first dog in a few months, and I always worry about getting into a situation like that, Oji. But I must agree with Katra and Teric - surely some professionals might be able to help.
Ok, now my turn. For the most part I don't like to bring personal issues onto public forums, as frankly I think everyone has their own battles and don't need to read about everyone else's.
But I think, at this point, I'm ready for some friendly furry hugs and such. My engagement is off (disengaged? ;P), and the last 4 months have been very trying emotionally. However, for the most part I kept it to myself and tried to carry on as usual at work, etc.
We own a home together, and for financial reasons had to continue living here until now, and it was damn awkward. Finally, yesterday, we put the thing up for sale.
I'm hoping to end this rut and re-boot my life. Here's hoping for good things... _________________ "We're Glad You Could Play Space Quest IV. As Usual, You've Been a Real Pantload."

Calling off an engagement is certainly no fun. But was it the right thing to do? Is it better this way instead of getting into a committment that may have been doomed to failure?
At any rate, I feel for you, Arctic. Even if the relationship may or may not have worked, breaking up is usually a big downer. And having to continue living with her for 4 months afterward... gads that's harsh.
I honestly hope things change for the better now that the house is up for sale.

I canceled my comic, and now everyone hates me. I haven't told anyone here yet, but now that I have, I'm open to your flames. |

First off, what breed of dog is it???
Second, what have you tried to date?
Third, how assertive are you?
Good news is, unless it's a pitbull, dobberman, or sheppard, you CAN correct the problem without putting the animal down.

Guy I know tried that route, Still has problems with his dog......
Of course, I didn't have the heart to tell him it's because he's too "laid back" if you get my meaning. If he put a little authority in his voice when he gives a command, he wouldn't be having all those problems. (Oddly enough, the dog is perfectly behaved around me - lol) _________________

I just remembered the other problem I wanted to post.
The reason why Lizzy and I were apart for so long is not because of anything between us. She was in the hospital for the past couple months, and she wasn't able to contact me or anyone else. Plus, her grandfather died, and she stopped eating, so they had to keep her longer so she wouldn't starve herself. So if anyone could please pray for her, it'd be great. I'm really worried, and normally she's the one who worries about me, so I know it's serious. |

midi my friend I shall connect you to the Network! this system of people that has been created by my mother to keep a vigil on my activities has also expanded into prayer requests. you have been entered.
i can also sympathize. My good friend Bryan's Grandfather died on Monday. he is handling it well enough, but his G-ma, mother, and sister are taking it hard. Send them your love, all.
