Oh, Sabrina already said she never wants to see ramen again, and in no uncertain terms

Every single college student I know, in Texas or around the base here in SC, has at some point bought a case of Ramen and seen how long they could live off of it. Trust me, there's only so many things you can do with packaged noodles; there comes a time when you realize that no matter what, it's STILL NOODLES. |
I used to work with a guy who told me of a guy he knew at art school who would open 2 packages of ramen, toss the flavored-salt packets, smear peanut butter on 'em, stick 'em together, and eat 'em like a sandwich. Chris Foxx made mention of it to, and that's where that came from
And yes, peanut butter and onion sandwich is both edible and tasty, but you HAVE to try it before you knock it!

Pretty much right, although Clarence would probably screw the soup up somehow

In college, I discovered that a box of Kraft Mac n Cheese could last 2 meals -- 3 if you added crackers and a smidgen of spaghetti sauce to it. Back then, KMC cost about 25 cents per box (and yes, I used to walk 10 miles to school, in the snow, uphill BOTH WAYS...). _________________ Hortmage, the Magic Gardener

No, I don't think so, thankyewverramuch.
Peanut butter = GOOD.
Onion = VERY.GOOD.
Combo = ARE.YOU.NUTS???
I had my fill of really weird combos in college. One of my friends enjoyed (and I SWEAR I am not making this up!) to spread a large dinner plate with Sugar Smacks and pour cream of spinach soup on it, then zap it in the microwave. I nearly tossed my cookies on that one. _________________ Oddly enough, my life is based on a true story. (Ashleigh Brilliant) |

I used to cook the ramen noodles, drain the water, season it with the packette, stir and mix well, fry some meat I would find somewhere, rip open a can of veggies, and I survived on that for 2 years.
I'm a carnivore- I GOT TO HAVE MY MEAT!

Oh Me!
I hope this thread has not turned out into a support group of Weirdo Combination of Abusive Foods...
Bad enough to see an improperly cooked lobster go after the one who tried to cook it, but some of these things.... sheeeesh- GUYS!!! You're making my ulcer kick! |

Nah. I only mentioned the sammich because Chris Foxx mentioned it in The Story (he's an extention of me, remember!), so I just had to throw that out.
The mention of the sandwich, not the sandwich itself

Ok I wanna see the paws of those militry or X military furs in here, how many of you had to use or abuse C rations or MREs, (Meals Ready to Eat) when I was in Ruwanda, for 6 months I had to eat them, no hot meals, well he could have had fresh hot bush meat, like smoked gorolla or monkey meat, or bug a bug soup , which is termites boiled in palm oil yummy, ham and eggs was the best,

Well...to date myself (1972 to be exact), in the Air Force I was in a MOB unit based in Oklahoma. MOB stands for Mobile Operational Base, and our mission was that given an air field somewhere we could set up a complete base with radar, control tower, etc.
We went on a LOT of "Exercises", mostly protecting Texas from God knows who. (Lots of abandoned air fields there...I still think we lost the Spanish/American war and were forced to keep Texas as a penalty )
Their favorite food fed to us was "In Flight Rations", many of which were dated from the Korean war! Trust me, the WORST MRE might look good compared to those things. There were bunkers full of the stuff, and you HAD to heat them...somehow. People got real good at building trays on top of the truck engines to hold the cans. Half an hour of driving, and dinner was served. ;P
