Well the last time I uploaded something to my page was back in 2003 when I had initially recieved my page and was in my Web Design class.

However I retained little of the class and have forgotten a VERY large amount.

I'm currently very much confused as what I should do now -- Since I wish to use my planet-furry site to run my Fan-Art gallery from... using this program : http://gallery.menalto.com/

However I'm coming into some problems.

1) I forget how to get into the shell (along with my account info/pass)
2) I don't have a program like 'Fetch' so I can't directly upload things -- So I'm at a loss how to upload this http://gallery.menalto.com/ so I can use it.

Basic suggestions. For I am simple minded and would appreciate any and all help. Heck. If someone (once I figure how to access my site) wishes to help me set it up, I'd be grateful for that too.

My limitations stopped at photobucket. Color me pathetic.

-Melsa.

I do not know if PF allows user CGI's to run on the system. Whip would have to answer that one directly.

There is also no shell access that I know of. In fact, I asked this question a year ago, only the Systems Administrators have it. Again, Whip can only answer that.

Finally- Fetch is th Mac OS/OSX version of the FTP client to access PF to up/down load files to your site. There are others. When I have to, I use Crystal FTP for Windows, though there are hundreds of other FTP Clients for Windows as there are for MacOS & OSX and Linux/Unix.

By default, account's are not setup with a shell unless otherwise requested, and even then I highly recommend using SSH rather than telnet. I can activate SSH for your account, however you'll need an SSH client (for example, Putty).

As far as your username and password, I can reset it for you. Email [email protected] with a replacement password (or I can generate one for you), and I'll take care of it.

Well, since Gallery is already available, I can set it up without you having to get into the shell. All I would need is a username and password you'd like to use, as well as a directory to install it to (default is /gallery). Just email that to [email protected] and I'll take care of that as well.
