Talking to milady Filly at the moment, and we've kinda decided that Esteban would -have- to be played by Antonio Banderas *nod nod* Trying to figure out the rest of the cast now...

So, if the film was ever made, who would be your pick for the characters?

Vala and I are working on a complete cast-list. I hope to get a chance to do a few more parts today, with her. The idea of this thread, of course, is twofold...

1: Who would be playing each part if this was to be filmed as a -non- furry movie.

2: Who'd be supplying the voice if it was an animated, furry story?

Either is good. Very Happy Hope to see some activity here...you'd be surprised how much of a brainteaser this is once started. Vala and I spent two hours giggling our way through just the major parts...

And the best bit about it is having the other one go "YES!! That's -perfect!-" when we suggest someone unusual (If this film ever gets made, we'll need a -lot- of money....)

Here's a few ideas, thought up by Vala and me in unision. The point is that while some actors and actresses mentioned here may be slightly too old for the parts, they have also proved beyond all doubt that they can PLAY younger parts (and we all know the miracles of Hollywood makeup...). As Vala already stated...we will need absurd amounts of money to get a cast like this. But...hey, in a perfect world anything can happen Very Happy

Anyway, I'm sure some people would disagree with some choices...and some are probably thinking 'what the hell are they thinking, making a list like that at all', but take my word for it...we've had a hell of a lot of laughs so far...

Thoughts welcome Very Happy

Here we go, anyway...our ideas and some reasoning for why...

Zig Zag ~ Michelle Pfeiffer, for that impish quality and, of course, the crooked smile...and her eyes...and...and...and...erhm...okay, stopping here. Oh, and she was this *enormous* sex symbol when we were young(er)...reminiscent of Zig Zag's own past.

James Sheppard ~ George Clooney, because he can actually pull the suave-thing without trying too hard. He's just the type to play a real, genuine gentleman.

Sabrina ~ Winona Ryder...just imagine her bent down in front of a computer screen, with round glasses and a nerdy look on her face. Besides, she can do the whole shocked-and-garbled speak...in complete bafflement...better than anyone else.

Esteban ~ Antonio Banderas, who may be a decade too old for Esteban, but who just happens to BE Esteban, sorry. No argument! Finito. End of story!! He's yummy enough to be Esteban and he probably still will be when he's 70. Guys...take it from us women. We know!

Gabrielle ~ Angelina Jolie, for a whoooole number of reasons. As Vala said...'imagine Lara Croft with one of Gabby's T-shirts'...besides, *this* particular actress wouldn't mind having to kiss a woman on screen. Due to her past, she could depict someone with Gabrielle's sexual preferences *the way it should be depicted*. Realistically.

Yohni ~ Natalie Portman, who can do 'insecure' very well, while being absolutely beautiful...not to mention she's able to do the whole wide-eyed and giggling, slightly ditzy thing that Yohni *also* has...at times.

Leo ~ Matthew McConnaughy, because of the hair. This is one human being who can pull a lion without too much trouble. He also has some facial expressions that would be perfect for Leo, and besides...the idea of Matthew McConnaughy in an Armani suit is enough to make most women need to sit down.

Marvin ~ Wesley Snipes, because quite frankly, there is no single athletic black actor out there who can do Marvin's attitude quite as convincingly as this guy. Imagine him tackling Theodore through the table...and you'll see why.

Lizzy ~ Selma Blair, an actress of many talents with a reputation for taking challenging parts in movies. She has done the slightly 'kooky' types before, as well...and so would not be a bad choice for a Marxist history-nerd.

Miriam ~ Alyson Hannigan, the erstwhile 'Willow Rosenberg' sprang to mind for a good choice here. Redheaded and perfectly capable of playing the slightly hippie'ish type, as has been proved through six seasons of 'Buffy', she was not hard to decide on.

Emma ~ Amber Benson, who played Tara in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. The choice was made because Amber, if you equip her with a boring hairstyle, round glasses, old clothes and a downcast expression would be fantastic as the 'rose waiting to open'.

Miranda ~ Uma Thurman, whom is perhaps the best established 'tough-but-feminine' actress in Hollywood. In fact, part of her strength and toughness comes BECAUSE she's a woman. This is exceedingly rare in present day movies, and it is necessary for whomever plays Miranda.

Lance Gulo ~ James Marsters, another 'Buffy' cast member. James Marsters played Spike...and if anyone has seen that character *snarl* they'd agree that he'd be the perfect choice for Lance. This guy can play evil so convincingly you tend to forget it's just an act.

Theodore Bigglesworth-Farthington von Salzburg ~ Jason Isaacs, because he's 'el numero uno badguy' in Hollywood. Sorry, but if you want a truly villainous villain...nasty piece of work, thoroughly rotten scumbag...go for Jason Isaacs.

Roxanne Bigglesworth-Farthington von Salzburg ~ Polly Hemingway, a classical British actress who can a) pull off the snobbish, upper class b*tch type quite, quite well...and b) who can do Roxanne's accent absolutely right. Oh, and Vala would like to hang around the sets to pump her for information. She knew Vala's mother as a kid. Very Happy

Timothy ~ Matt Damon, because he's got the right kind of crooked smile. And the voice. He's got a kind of 'the nice boy next door' quality that would really fit. He can do the somewhat haunted look...which Timothy has in the first 'Transitions' story, while getting away from his parents' influence.

Malcolm ~ Ryan Phillippe, who for one thing has the looks to do it, but more importantly he is very, very flexible which would be a damned important thing for someone playing a dancer.

Captain Archibald ~ James Earl Jones, because this part needs a big, BOOMING personality...'nuff said.

Abu-Yusuf ~ Vincent Ebrahim, a severely underrated actor, mostly famous for comedy in the United Kingdom. Besides, his ethnicity is right which makes him the perfect choice.

Peter Spermophilus ~ Mads Mikkelsen, one of very few Danish actors to make it big, abroad. He's got a penchant for playing thoughtful but strong characters. The kind of character that will go on to the bitter end, come what may...and take the punishment that comes along with it.

Jean ~ Louise Rhodes, whom is actually a singer, but who has a way to use her voice that would be perfect for Jean. What's more...she's incredibly androgynous and since Tilda Swinton is too old, we had to find someone else.

Francois ~ Patrick Stewart, just imagine him with a sixpence, a small mustache and a broom in front of a bakery. Slightly bent over too, and 'viola'...you have the perfect, fatherly type.

Marie ~ Pauline Collins, who makes an excellent 'stroppy housewife'. She can play completely irrational character types convincingly. It is actually harder than one might think, to play someone who throws up her hands and storms off, without coming across as comical. This woman can.

Fox ~ Joaquin Phoenix, and anyone who doubts it, imagine him leaning over slightly, saying 'Very well, tell me about your childhood' in a calm, polite tone of voice. He's got the voice for it. And the right age.

Interesting list.

Me, I would prefer Nastasia Kinski as Zig Zag.

I think she's got the sexiest eyes and smile ever. Plus, while (AFAIK) she didn't play in any outright porn movies, she did play in several movies that leaned in this direction.

We had a good giggle doing this, missed a few of the smaller parts, but maybe a few of you guys could fill those in for us. Good alternative Zig there, Nameless, I like your thinking Smile

I cant remember the name of the butler for Gabby's dad..whats his name?

But I think Sean Connery (is that how you spell it?) might be able to pass off as him. He can do that old refined british gentleman look, but also has the personality to match that and of someone from the RAF or other military background. Alot of his movies actually follow that idea to some extent.

And incase you still dont know who it is because of my horrible memory for name spelling, its the guy from the movie "The Rock". And "The Hunt for Red October".

P.S. Incase you havent noticed...i'm not too good at remembering the spelling for names. Rolling Eyes

Shadowjaguar, I have to admit that I'm a little saddened by your forgetfulness...
You named off two of Sean Connery's less-known movies, and left out what truly MADE him famous...
Bond. James Bond.

^_^
Though I agree, he'd be an awesome Watson.

Honestly, all of these actors would be excellent for the parts they're named as... a few I had to check out on IMDB simply because I couldn't match name with face, but once I did, I went "Ooooohh... that's GOOD...."

I can't think of a part for him right off the top of my head, but surely Vin Diesel would be well-suited to play one of the characters in Gabby's world?? Maybe one of the guys at the studio, simply because he can be kinda goofy, but is still a hunk.. ^_^

Vin Diesel wouldn't be a half bad Rafe, I think...

Anyone disagree on that?

I think there's a much better choice for Marvin than Wesley Snipes, and that Would be Micheal Clark Duncan, he was Bear in Armagedon and Finny Figs in The Whole Nine Yards, he's a really big black guy who can play both lovably friendly and buisness like violent.
