Not to mention the sheer amount of trouble most people have trying to find one in the first place. Exclusivity drives prices. Many people can't even afford one-- for twice the price I paid, you could get a beater from Honest Bob's Val-u-rite Car Emporium. That said, if you break down the price I paid I spent well under the base price. And I won't even start in on street value.

270 is the premium price at game stop, best buy, and wall mart. the problem I had geting one was finding a place that had it in stock. my pre order got recended so now im still looking.

I don't get WHY anyone would pay what they do for the XBox... I mean honestly it wouldn't sell for half as much if it were readily available...

It's still pretty unstable and buggy, too, as most new consoles tend to be.... and I've yet to hear of any great games that make me wanna go OMG must buy... but then again I've never liked HALO.

My thoughts exactly. Why spend over $500 on something with only, like, ONE good game AND having the possibility of crashing right when you get home. I say at least wait a few months until better games and bug-free consoles come out.

I'd rather work backwards and buy old game consoles that we all know work okay and have great titles.
