Rather than try to summarize, I will simply cut and paste the post that John "The Gneech" Robey made over on the Suburban Jungle LiveJournal community:
Quote: |
In case you haven't heard, Katayamma, the colorist for Suburban Jungle, has suffered a fire which on initial inspection seems to have pretty much wiped out all his stuff. I just spoke to him on the phone to get his status:
He's physically okay himself, has cash to get by, and has local friends looking after (and feeding) him. The apartment complex is arranging alternate housing for him as well, so he's not out on the street. He asked me to let everybody know that he's doing all right, just letting the blow settle in a bit, and that he'll be back on the 'net as soon as he can.
I'll keep everyone informed as I can.
-The Gneech |
Let's keep Hikaru in our thoughts and hope it doesn't take too much before things are back to normal for him. _________________ mwalimu

You mentioned having trouble finding new clothing. Were you able to recover any of your clothing from the damaged apartment? Granted, it'll most likely need a wash, but that's a damn sight less work than having to buy all new (besides, where can you get replacement furry con T-shirts anyhow?). _________________ mwalimu

I'll be trying to get into the apartment again today to look for stuff. Problem is, most all of my clothes were on the floor and have been soaking for a week in that crap. It's doubtful any will ever be useable again. _________________ Read my comic: http://www.ImperialGelf.com

A little bit extra laundry soap than you would normally use, and about the same amount of baking soda as laundry soap in the washer. Plus use two dryer sheets instead of one and you'll get rid of a LOT of nasty strong smells. I know, I've done it, it works wonders, saved some of my otherwise ruined clothes. _________________ http://www.bukisa.com/people/AmberBarnes check it out!

I'll be giving it a try, just in case. All my MFM staff shirts and other clothes.... _________________ Read my comic: http://www.ImperialGelf.com
