Read at www.hotscripts.com yesterday that PHP5 is ready to hit or already out.
Will PF hosting be upgraded to that too? |
Well, PHP 5 has been out for almost a year now. At the moment there are several scripts in use that do have some compatability issues with PHP 5 over PHP 4, and I personally haven't had enough experience with PHP 5 to be able to support it. Ensim, the backend server management software used on this server, doesn't officially support it either, which makes getting support difficult to impossible if it surrounds PHP.
I know Fedora Core 4 will support PHP 5, as well as MySQL 4.1. Once this has been released, I will be looking for a way to integrate PHP 5 in some way, likely through a virtual machine (VMware, Xen, etc.). |
