Actually it was both Canada and Australia, and by law what they had to do was declare Jedi an official religion, by law they were obligied to do so.
As for military service, I'm not in any, though I had given very serious consideration to the Coast Guard before I went to college. _________________ Bad moods are like hangovers, they eventually go away. - A. Sigurd Olson |

*growles angrily, snarls*
The US Coast Guard still needs to be put on this list!!! Not only are they one of the FIVE branches of the US military, but they play an important role in our safety and our lives...not to mention that they have been providing distinguished service to the US for over 200 years.
Whether or not anyone here is in the Coast Guard, these brave and admerable people still deserve to have their branch listed here, instead of being apparently forgotten.

Retired NYPD- Auxillary branch.
Retired NYC Life Guard, since 14 - 39.
Retired Red Cross Volunteer...
Not necessary Military, for I am 4-F for Airforce, and just barely acceptable for Army in my younger days; though I had the recruiters fighting for me when I went in and racked up the highest scored on their fighter plane and tank simulations. Too many injuries to my frame to make me acceptable by the miltary.
My bro is currently doing DMZ duty at Korea for the US Army. _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!

Been serving in the US Air Force scince October 29, 1999! Just reenlisted, too.
Mock me if you must, but we still get better accomodations! *grins* Kidding, of course. Got to experience firsthand how our sister services get to deal with deployments last summer. For eight months (not the usual three...) we did the Army's 88M job, lived where they did, ate where they ate. Wasn't that bad, actually. Not dormitory life, but still... we managed.
And just for the record: Those of us Air Force that fill the convoy gun truck positions are now on one-year rotations. I'm up again in December. _________________ AirWuff |

As my father in-law says "the armys good for nothing but a distraction." Of course he was in marine re-con, so was just a tad bit biased on the matter. Tell ya the truth I was chain smoking the day my dad met my wife's (and I don't normally smoke). my dad burned his draft card back in the day, and my father in-law volunteered for Vietnam. Talk about compleetely differing view points ona subject. _________________ Bad moods are like hangovers, they eventually go away. - A. Sigurd Olson |

Coast Guard? Those loons I'm forced to deal with at work? Those pompous overly arrogant rubber duckies? Their considered an actual millitary branch?! Oh lord save us all!
Just kidding, but they really are a bunch of assholes IMHO. _________________ Insane and loving it!

Woah there... this thread is a bit old, here.
Please don't "raise" old threads unless you have something new and useful to add to them... even then it might be a good idea to start a new one.
Thanks! _________________ Planetfurry moderator
