(Cross-posted from my LJ)
It's not often that work and two distinctly different hobbies intersect, but it's "fascinating" when they do.
Anyway, I've got something a bit different here, my boss is restoring a WW II liaison aircraft and needs some appropriate artwork to reflect the nickname this particular aircraft has always carried, "Army-dillo". The basic idea is a not-too-detailed (think WW II nose art), but recognizeable armadillo standing upright and wearing WW II combat boots and a WW II army helmet (note, his criticism of the original art was that it looked "like a rat stuffed into a taco shell"). This aircraft will be shown at a variety of airshows where kids can get up close, so the art does need to be of a G-rated male armadillo. As to time, he'll be needing it within a few weeks as he finishes the remainder of the restoration (he's already got the major rebulding and repainting done).
He prefers to get the final version in a computer-graphics format so that he can take and get a decal made to put on the aircraft. He's willing to pay a "fair and reasonable" fee.
If you're interested, please leave a comment with an idea on price and where I can find a suitable sample to show him (*G* rough sketches will not be discouraged).
Thanks all,
