Just looked into the forum for the first time in months and ran into your story.
I enjoyed it very much, although I did find (at least from my emotional makeup) that everyone forgave Susan too quickly. Then again, not having a longer story to wrap it around, you didn't have the ability to spread out her redemption over time.
I hope that you will grace us with additional C&C stories as the muse strikes.
