Not going to bother posting flash on here anymore as the flash doesn't loop when played through the PF server.

Had another go at remaking the marching hammer animation from Pink Floyd. Look, perspective!! *Points* Razz Oop. Here they come again ...

Phew! I really hope you guys like this lil flash anim. It took me long enough. X.x

This is an intro to the comicbook I'm making as if it were a film (which I MAY actually do considering the university course I'm doing). It's music! Turn those speakers up! Razz Band Chase introduced to me called Celldweller.

I really enjoyed making this and I hope you enjoy watching it. Oh, but I'm afraid you'll have to refresh the page if you want to play it again as the replay button at the end wont work on these forums. Confused Once should be enough. Cool

EDIT - Hmm, a bit jumpy, isn't it? ... If you want to see it a bit less jerky, change the quality settings to medium or low. = / Oh! Or you could view the high quality version here - http://www.deviantart.com/view/18800079/

... just kidding. Laughing

Here's my current 3D project, attached.

I can remember, back in 2006, looking at Ryan Fox and Little Dragon's 3D work and being totally stunned by it. Now I'm doing it myself. x3

However, I'm still pretty new to it. And my methods of modelling and animation revolve around computer games. So I like working with low-poly models to start off with, then beefing up the detail when I'm sure everything works. Part of that is hindsight.

So, Ryan, Dragon, anyone else who knows a thing or two about 3D modelling, I'd appreciate a bit of crit about where I could add more polys to aid the animation movements. Any experience you can offer, is welcome.

There's just a placeholder texture on him at the moment. I like to get the model right before the UV unwrapping process.

Ah yes... the standard T-Pose. I see that sooooo much here at work... Wink

So you're saying 5700+ polys is good for a game-specific model? Razz Wow you must be running that one on a next gen console or something. (Hehe just teasing ya)

Actually, I'm pretty impressed that you were able to get the model looking this good, even with the simple texture.

That's the trouble with furry characters. You need a LOT of alpha planes, just to get the fluffiness looking right. xD I may take a few lines of geometry out of the face and paws, looking at it now. Will chuck a few polys around and see if I can get it below 5500 at least, today. May get cocky and model some more stuff in there, too. Wink

Makes me wonder how Blizzard models their furry creatures (their World of Warcraft wolves and Worgen are good examples). I'm no 3D modeller, so I can't make a qualified opinion, but it seems to me that those models are under 2000 polygons.
