Shouldn't that be "have"?

I don't have it and I doubt I'll get it anytime soon. At least not until somebody could confirm to me that it has plot, unlike the first 2 DOOM games.

Picky, aren't we? It does have a plot, but it's a retelling if the original. From what ive heard, the plot is actually part of the game instead of a backstory in the manual.
The company that developed it, Vicarious Visions, is about 20-30 minutes from my house. I was thinking of writing them and asking for a tour, but i never got around to it.

If I want mind and plotless shooting I'll play UT, which doesn't try to be anything else.

When I get a single player FPS I want more than shooting at everything that moves.

I've got Doom 3. It runs slowly, but does run. It's hard to tell, but I don't think I'm out of the first level yet - it seems to be a complex 'hub-based' game, letting me use elevators between one area or another, much like Quake 2.

I can confirm it most DEFINITELY has a plot. You can receive e-mails, you're in contact with your colonel by radio, and you're able to pick up PDAs and download voice diaries -- and listen to them as you're going through the corridors.

There's nothing like listening to the base's doctor describe how a marine was under treatment in the infermary and found to have gotten into one of the locked cabinets and sliced "666" on his arms and cut his tongue in half -- just to have an pentagram form on the floor in front of you... and an imp appears and starts slinging fireballs your way while pouncing forward and slicing your face -- while the journal entry is still playing back the entire time.

Very Happy

Hmmm... sounds like some of the developers have played a lot System Shock. You get emails and find voicelogs there all the time and thus slowly find out what the heck happend on Citadel Stations.

System Shock is one of my vavorite FPSs. Hmmm... maybe DOOM3 is worth taking a look at.

Don't worry, TX. DOOM will never be able to give us the online experience UT2004 can.

And besides, if BF played through it THAT fast it can't be very good. Matter of fact, if you play through a game that quickly it IS not very good because you paid good money and it only managed to entertain you for a few hours.

Normally, I'd say something along the lines of "I call shotgun on the virgins." But, when dealing with a game like Doom 3, I dunno if it's appropriate. Afterall, the virgins may call/go shotgun on you. ^^

Hehe, belive me, TX, Doom 3 will have a very hard time to replace UT as THE online FPS.

It took them what, 10 years to come up with Doom3, which is made as single player, where UT has been steadily improved over the last years. That's a lot of experience the guys who made Doom not yet have.

And what is that against Halo, BF?
