Not a flash animation or game, but for sure a curiosity.

Type in the name of an artist or song you like, and it "creates" a streaming channel of similar sounding/genre music for your listening pleasure. _________________ "We're Glad You Could Play Space Quest IV. As Usual, You've Been a Real Pantload."

Men In Coats are wacky! I've seen them before. Always a pleasure.
Artcic, that's an interesting link. I thought I'd try something semi-unique and entered Blackmore's Night.... Whoa! They have Written in the Stars! I wonder how big their database is? <listening> I'll be interested to see what they suggest for a playlist. Someone once suggested that Rick Wakeman is similar to Blackmore's Night--sorry, not close. Thematically they touch on the same subjects, but the musical styles are very different. Jethro Tull's Songs From the Wood is in the same genre as most of Blackmore's Night, but that's an unusual sound for Jethro Tull.
Hmmm, it's playing Keikki's Election Day, which has a sort of "peace and love 60s sound". Not exactly the neo-renaissance style of Blackmore's Night.
Alasdar Roberts' The Cruel Mother... Ummm, that's unique. Sort of old-world folk, acoustic whatnot. I suppose one might hear something like this an a Ren Fair.
Number four is back to Blackmore's Night with Under a Violet Moon.
Diane Cluck's Save Me. Uggh. Now I know what not to buy.
Five songs then it quits. Well that was interesting. I think I'll bookmark it. Thanks, Arctic.
Good grief, I wonder what they'd do if I entered Adrian Legg?

heh - I posted this to PF before I realized that the site is only a 5 song preview; though you can register for free after the last song finishes to keep listening as long as you want; you just gotta key in your zip code and email addy, etc - funny it says US residents only, good thing I remembered my 'Beverly Hills 90210' for the zip code
I found it seems to match certain genres of music better then others... rock was so-so, but it had pretty good hit rate with electronic music like the Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold, etc... prolly cuz its more likely to sound similar _________________ "We're Glad You Could Play Space Quest IV. Indeed, the music industry should be taking notes...services like this are great ways to discover new music. |

In the online world at least, '90210' is the US zip code with the most illegal immigrants
As for Pandora, I've kept listening at work -- you can help the algorithm 'learn' by clicking on each song and giving it the 'thumb's up or down', as a sort of quality control to better improve its song matching, and bettering your own listening experience....cool _________________ "We're Glad You Could Play Space Quest IV. Explination: Leonato and Journye recently moved to a new house a couple minutes away from their old house. So last weekend they asked us to come visit and help them move and also bring our three kittens we adopted from them so that they could visit their mother. So Sunday night Journye and I took the last of the necisary stuff away from the old house to the new house, including the 7 kittens and two adult cats. I didn't want the 7 kittens running all over the car and bothering me while I drove so since we were only going to drive for a couple minutes I took all the kittens and put them into the one cat carrier that we had brought our three kittens in. They were so heavy it put stress on the carrier to carry them by the handle, I had to hold the cage by the bottom but when we got to the house I thought it was so hilarious that they were all packed in there so I had to take a video.
They should have been wearing shriner hats or clown make-up or something!
