I seriously don't think all the tears from this one will be gone for a while. So excellent a job, all involved, and to Dave. I officiated at my Mother's funeral, and we sang Amazing Grace, too, but the thought of how it was done here, just too much for words.

Such a work of writ can only come truly from the heart.
The one thing above all that Dave had was a heart.
I'm still re-reading it; too many interuptions both at work and at home keeps me from reading it throughly with depth and understanding. But from what I have seen and read, really gets to me as indescribable.
Well done Dave, and to you editors out there, Thank you.
Q(s): When will it be in the Racoon Library? When will it be out in print? _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!

TV Dave did good word pictures. I just draw what he wrote.

The talent is neither lost or wasted there, Cirrel...
Mike sent me the link last not about a 1/2 hour after you posted it.
Saw it then, seen it now- again. Too bad I cant use certain words for both the firewall here at work and the filter on PF will *bleep!* out some words.
But in using words 3 sylubals or less and remaining to be as clean as possible, "IT WAS GOOD..."
"GOOD" as in - freak this diet, hand over the cookies good!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.... I can just imagine what you can do with a simillar scene, here:

My thumbs up to you Cirrel. _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!

Oh my gosh, Cirrel...that's exactly how I envisioned that scene (except I had the mental picture flipped 180 degrees).
Very well done. Very good compliment to TV Dave's story. _________________ Hortmage, the Magic Gardener

Dave never got to see it but I believe he would have been proud to accept it.

Thanks, Mike.
I honestly don't remember what came over me to include something like that. Being Jewish, it's not a hymn I would normally be familiar with, or would think of using.
As I remember, I had just written that in, and was going to e-mail that section to Dave to get his thoughts, when I heard the news. I'm going to credit Dave...directly or indirectly...with the inspiration for that section. _________________ Hortmage, the Magic Gardener

<Hears Twilight Zone music.>
Oooooo. That's wierd. Guess what? I originally DREW that pic 180 degrees from this one because that's the way I saw it too! But then Mike reminded me that wedding bands go on the LEFT paw - so I had to flip it around.

Not a complaint, but in most funerals I've seen, to the person standing on the in front of the coffin, the head of the casket is to the left and the foot is the right.
In only 2 personal occasions, the casket was in the middle of the room so the viewers could see it from either side, and only a hand few was the head on the right. One such funeral I was in where the head was on the right was of a young student I had. A second grader, who was very small for his age; killed in a minor car accident when the cover of the airbag went right through his neck and decapitated him. Though many other kids were killed in airbag accidents during this time, his death made nation wide headlines and started legistation for stricter airbag rules and child seat safety laws.
It is so unfortunate that it must take a death of an innocent in order to bring positive change. In my eye, it is also unforgiveable and inexusable.
Either way, its a wonderful piece of work, Cirrel. _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!

Hmmm. Hadn't realized that, but now that you mention it, that's what I've seen too. But then Chris would have had to reach across Sab to put the ring on the correct hand and that would block the rose and <sigh> chalk this one up to artistic license. However, it is nice to know folks notice things like this. It means at least they're looking.

It does not matter if Sabrina had a left handed or right handed funeral, but the amount affection and feeling of loss that we have for her. _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!

Greetings, just finished the fourth installment and to start wtih -
DAMN, that man could write!
This story does NOT pull you in, it engulfs you.
It protrays one aspect of life that most of us would rather forget, even though it is usually the second reason for large family get-togethers (and during the later stages, overruns holidays).
When reading, sometimes it is was hard to think of her as a 2D character running on painted stage, well, maybe 2 and a half due to the life various others have given her...
Hmmm, how to sign off - 'Be Good All' |
