What a difference a bath makes!
I'm actually quite amazed at what a turn-around Sheila makes. She actually does remind me of the way I expected an employee of Zig Zag's to act -- full of the joy of life, etc.
It's got to be more than just a bath. And I think it's more than the VIP treatment that Melody gave her. Could it be the fact that she's reached her goal, and knows that Home is the next stop?

Wow, I was halfway through this chapter before I realized I was even reading it. It just sucked me in and took me with it. Interesting that Hecate would still be willing to kill Arden after everything they've been through, especially right afer her revelation that she wants to be more of a "lady", or more than she is.
And actually I found myself hoping that Ruddygore steps in and relieves Melody of her punishment, because if he considers Sheila to be a VIP, then her actions should go unpunished.

Perhaps Ruddy doesn't consider Sheila a VIP he did refer to her as "it" at the start. What can I say but another enjoyable read Bear I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter.

Thank you. That's very high praise.
As for Melody, even I'm not quite sure how that'll resolve itself. She was supposed to be a fill character for just the bath scene, but I needed a second fill scene for 43 and she popped to mind. We'll have to see what happens, eh?
