Woke up with a migraine which didn't fade until almost 7PM so a majority of the day sucked...

Re-installed XP today. Figured my head was already killing me so it couldn't get any worse. I was wrong, however not by much.

Interesting fact. The binaries for Win98SE on CD take up about 125M of disk space.

All the patches and updates for WinXP when I reinstalled took 138M. There were more "fixes" requird for XP than the entire install of 98SE.

That's pathettic.

Oh well... I did get a bit of writing done tonight. I'm just over 4 full pages into 49 and it's coming along quite well. Lucifer got to step out and be himself for a change. I think it may actually shock a few folks until the remember just who it is we're talking about. *chuckles* Y'all will know exactly what I'm talking about when you read it.

Anyway, that's it for me. I'm going to call it a night and crash for a bit. I deviated from my planned script and now have to spend some time sorting it out, which means time to do some day-dreaming/roll-playing in my head without any distractions. I can only do that in a room w/o electronic toys which means time for bed! *laughs*

I completed the chapter a little bit ago. I'm going to crash and when I get up, I'll do a re-read through before shipping it off to my editor. Should have it up for y'all later tonight.

After three days of writing, Chapter 49 is up.

This chapter took a hell of a lot of work. If everything goes right it should make you laugh and make you cry. Hopefully, it won't make you want to string me up as a heratic. Smile

I've not completely planned out Chapter 50, but it's going to be a monster. I may wind up taking 2 weeks to write that one, but I'm not sure.

I'll let y'all know as I work on it.

Meanwhile, enjoy 49.

So I've started doing some work on Act IV already. Nothing serious yet, just the preliminaries to set the stage. In the process, I realized that I needed to re-capture the feeling of Logan Furbody, the TV reporter.

So in the process of trying to crawl back into Logan's brain, I made the mistake of starting to read the story again and came to a realization: Sheila is absolutely nothing like she used to be.

Now I know what you're saying.... DUH! and you're right. When Sheila returns, she won't be anything like the young, enthusiastic, live life to it's fullest person that she was before the story and that bothers me in a way. With all I have planned for Act IV, I don't know if she'll ever get back to anything approaching that level of enthusiasm for life, especially considering what Lucifer's lined up for her.

In a way I'm proud that the characters have evolved to this extent. Character growth is what a story is all about, really. Taking the reader along on the ride and making it enjoyable is simply the frosting on the cake, but do you do it at the expense of the characters? Arden I have no problems with beating up and abusing. He's my character. Sheila though, I do worry about since she's not really my character even though she's in my story.

How can I be true to the Sheila Vixen that Eric created while still putting her through the grind that will be Act IV.

Man, that's gonna be tough.

I'd have to say that now Sheila is what the story has made her. She's been through a lot (to say the least) and she just isn't the same person that she was. In my humble opinion, don't worry about Eric's Sheila. You now know her as she is, as she has become through the events that you've put her through, better than anybody including Eric. And this Sheila is who we want to read about.

And there you have it - my tuppence du jour.

Finished up Ch 1 and sent it off to the editor. It'll be up tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to start working on CH 2 so I can get ahead on things. Next weekend there's a VERY good chance that I won't be able to write, so I need to get it donw NOW!

I called James Burner to wish him a belated happy birthday today. During the conversation I got around to talking to him about Act 4 and how it would have effected James and Zig Zag. We both pretty much agreed on how the characters would be acting at this point in the story, which let me give a BIG sigh of relief. There's going to be a lot of tension between them and that's going to put a serious strain on their relationship, more so than anything he's done in ZZ Studios. I wanted to cover the bases before I went and started thowing my hand grenades on top of his monkey wrenches. Twisted Evil

Anyway, that's about it. If you're bored, drop by my DA site as I've posted some new stuff over there too.

Whelp... Today was a constructive day for me. I did a minor site redesign on my web page. Considering that I SUCK at desigining graphic objects, I don't think the buttons came out too bad. YES I know that the Act I button is off by 2 pixels. I'll fix it later. I just wanted to get the crap up.
