I don't think fur would really much be a problem. And Certian guitar strings are tough. i would imagine more claws being ripped off by hitting the string wrong. _________________

my computer seems to be acting up again *kicks it* there.. it should run better now.
My list of instruments is scary?? I didn't think it all that bad compared to my band teachers... with both of them combined they know how to play every instrument in the entire band.. that's what I call scary. O.o
Hey I could teach whoever wishes to some stuff.. I don't know how that'll work out online but I don't mind giving a little bit of lessons or questions every so often.. at least one of my only talents is being put to some sort of use. So drop me a line.. I'd love to hear something I can help with.
As for furry artists.. it's like when I wear bracelets and try to play my guitar... you just turn your wrist so that it nothing touches the board except for you fingers. As for the claws.. on one side they would have to be filed down, and as for the picks. They could use their claws if they wished, cause I've used fake manicure nails on mine and the strings were fine.. or they could have thoush filed down as well and play with picks... as for other instruments.. I'll answer those ones as best I can if and when they are brought up. _________________ Love is like oxygen, you get too much you get high, not enough and you're gonna die. Interesting question, Cirrel.
Regarding the guitar thing, I would imagine that fur could use claws to play it, maybe in new, special ways even. However, those who value their claws will keep them sheathed, if possible.
The problem with the fur could be solved by using long sleeved shirts or pullovers
I was thinking, what if fur have divided upper lips, like most animals have. It would render them unable to play more or less all human instruments that involve blowing into something. Of course, if the have divided upper lips they wouldn't have made up instruments like ours in the furst place but created mouthpieces that fit. _________________ Tygon Panthera - name and species

I play guitar and electric bass.
I took guitar lessons for about 2 years but that was 14 years ago.
There are 3 of my songs up on The Raccoon's Bookshelf music room.
I recently started to get into repairing and customising guitars and amplifiers. Custom pickup switching, adding a master volume to a guitar amp, for example. _________________ Mark Lonewolf

Nice tune (as always) Xaq.
Set the wayback machine, Sherman. This is gonna be ancient history.
In 69 I learned to play the Yuke.
In 72 I learned to play the Bassoon, but hated it.
In 75 I learned to play the clarinet. (little better, but still )
In 77 I learned to play the acoustic guitar followed by the electric.
In 82 I learned the accordion. I still have it, but it needs new bellows.
In 84 I learned the recorder followed by the flute.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to play much of anything any more. In 87 I was in a pretty rough and tumble motorcycle accident that broke the fingers of my left hand (so much for reaching for those notes on the guitar) and recently (last 5-6 years) I've started to develope serious arthritus in my right wrist from when I shattered it in 78. It's an injury that was aggrivated in '01 when I was rear-ended at a red light by an un-insured drunk driver just after I got out of work.
As with art, I now am satasfied with just listening.

I play piano/keyboard and have dabbled a little bit with the trumpet and the harmonica. But the piano is my instrument.
I'm also becoming well-versed in programs like ACID and Reason (just got Reason 2.5 recently, and I must say it is the most awesome program I have ever used.)
I have a page up with my existing music: http://www.kieferskunk.net/music.htm . My latest work is "The Spacefarer, Mark 3", and I'm working on some new ideas now. I have a piece in progress at the moment that sounds rather similar to some of William Orbit's work (Strange Cargo, etc). _________________ > KieferSkunk |

I used to play the recorder, but I really hated it, so I quit!
I do the odd bit of singing and dancing now.

Old topic, I know, but I thought I'd just say I'm a drummer, but I can play a bit of guitar and bass, and some keyboard. And here's an obscure instrument, the jews harp. Well, I wouldn't say I can play the jews harp too well, just a bit. _________________ You turn 18 and you realize nothing changes... Except you get junk mail for credit cards. |
