I'm a sucker for Celtic music! Folk, classic, even the new stuff. I love the Irish pipes and the big Celtic drums, Scottish fiddle tunes (from which American Bluegrass is derived, let us not forget), the whole works.

But I don't dance. Two-and-a-half left feet here. Rolling Eyes

Bugs my wife, too. Sad

Celtic music is my heritage so I have an affinity to it.
I love rock, but rock mixed with classical is absolutely amazing (such as the Re_animation CD of Linkin Park's)
I sometimes listen to Techno nd can slight dance to that though I'll never admit it.

Rolling Eyes

Good Charlotte are not punk.

The Sex Pistols; The Damned; The Clash. They are punk!

Well, I don't really 'dance'. That is, unless you consider moshing as dancing. I go for metal and assault rock.

amen to that! strauss and mozart play a mean waltz... that's the best type of dancing in my opinion. second best is a tango and don't even mind listening to fox trot type muzak if i'm fox trotting with the right fella Wink

but nothing beats rock and roll if you wanna belt out some singing and let loose on the dance floor.

In order to slow dance one must have someone else to slowdance with. So us singles don't get to that to often, or at least this single doesn't.

I didn't think about tehno but alright a blues girl that totally rocks. The blues rocks I've always loved blues, rock, and I also like Jazz but don't find myself danceing to that hardly ever. My dancing involves me moving in the craziest way I see fit for the song though so that's my dancing.

I'm a vinyl fanatic! So I listen to anything recorded on it.
Classical music is one of my personal fav's. Smile
Instrumental and world music from Vangelis, Yanni,Goya partially makes up the creative energy source of this lil foxy. Very Happy

Carpa Deim (vinyl's), Moby, Jamiroquai, Live , Flow recordings, Foo Fighters are just but a small fraction of what I listen to during the duration of a single week Very Happy

I agree about classical and, with a switch in genders about fox trots. What most folk don't know is that the introduction of the waltz fairly scandalized European society of the time. Laughing There's plenty of evidence of that.

Way back in the last century (I love saying things like that), I took a "History of Bluegrass Music" class as an elective. Quite, quite fascinating. While Irish music was definitely a factor, there were many other influences as well (including African; as I recall, the banjo was patterned off of an African instrument).

The only dance lessons I ever took were for square dancing. I learned while in college. I used to be a +1/+2 Dancer (let's see if anyone recognizes THAT reference!). My wife (who's on crutches) doesn't dance; she said, while we were dating, that I was free to go to the dances, as long as I didn't dance with any of the pretty girls. Rolling Eyes Which kind of takes the whole fun out of the idea, now, doesn't it? Confused

My Dad used to be a square dance caller -- I don't know what you visualize when you hear the phrase "square dance caller", but my Dad would never have fit...he was a short, plump, bald Jewish guy with a decidedly New England accent... Laughing (Gosh, I miss him...) Sad
