Now, I know this is stereotyping, but I honestly thought that most of you wouldn't have even heard of MT! Good people also understand reasons of not having auto... Twisted Evil

good idea not to put auto in 4X4's cos that could be nasty!

Good luck anybody taking thier 'test soon! Very Happy

*G* Among this crew? You forget that some of us (looks at himself) are of an age to remember when automatic transmissions were not that reliable. Now, for a question that'll set a lot of furs back:

How many have ever driven a vehicle with a foot-pedal starter?

Best of luck,
Cateagle

These were common before the electric starter became widespread. You basically turned the key and then pumped the pedal; with luck it'd start the first time. I've driven two vehicles, both dating from the early 40's, that started this way.

I don't like 'em personally. But that's probably because I don't like any kind of automatic transmission. I've got to row it myself. I've rented a couple cars with the sort of manu-matic thing going on and while it was kind of fun for the first 10 minutes, I ended up putting it back in full auto mode because it still felt like an auto even in manual mode.
