Ooh, nice! I like this better than the previous tail pic because the fur is now thick enough to hide the structual part of the tail (what you would see if you shaved all the fur off). _________________ Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Must... Stroke... Tail. Must... *shakes himself* Sorry...
Seriously, that is some very impressive work, Ryan - I doubt I'd have the patience to do that. Have you rendered an entire character, yet, just to see what it looks like? |

Looks quite good. The only thing is that only very few hairs actually stick out from the main shape, and only at the end. Unless you used gel, a few hairs would stick out. But I guess I'm nitpicking, it would be hard to notice this if the tail wasn't shown fullscreen but part of a figure.
Maybe in another 10 years we'll have the CPU power to really do it right... _________________ I'm a nut, but there are those who appreciate me for it. |

This is a rough render. In no way will this resemble the final product
the fur.. it's dynamics, it's ability to interact with other object meshes
and it's texture mapping all required a totally unconventional approach
that took up a great deal of my time. Also a change of clothing is due
on this model as well.. More like an upgrade.. something to do with a logo
a Mac logo

Me? Burnt out? What the hell gave them that idea?!? I'm really trying here.
I'm doing my best here...and I'm really sorry I've fallen so far behind with
the characters. GAH! I think for this week and the next I'll addict myself to
espresso because.. because without being artistic... I feel like a sack of
off-cut meat!! A waste of flesh...

?? There are more things to life Ryan. Is it you or someone else that makes say you are slacking? If its someone else they don't know what goes into 3d works. If its you, you need to take a breather before its no longer any fun and no longer a labor of love. And I'll admit to suffering burnout myself, and I don't have to do near as much as you . _________________

Take a short break from it rest up for a week or two. Trust me on this one I know from experience. Between jobs I build grills, trailers, and the ocasional ornamental fence. And if things don't come together just right I tend to get alittle frustrated. So I back off for a week or two and relax collect my focus then go at it again. _________________ Beware the light at the end of the tunnel, just might be the headlights of my speeding truck. =0.0.=
