Tell me about it - I'm setting up a certain server here at home, and MAN! is RL getting in my way! We're behind you 100 percent, Whiplash, so don't worry!
(I'd say we're behind you more than 100 percent, but aren't you running the risking of reversing yourself then? )

Nope, just sounding like a Democratic presidential candidate.

Seems we are having problems again with the database. I think I can fix it by removing the accounts that weren't able to go through the registration completely, but that means if you're on this list you will have to re-register. Most of these I've sent an email to before, but there are a few that are new.
So if your username is on this list, in the next 10 minutes or so your account on the BBS will cease to exist.

Man, was the database being a b!tch or what!! Sorry for the language, but it took me a good 3 hours to fix this problem. I tested the system a few times by trying to register, and it looks like we are okay now.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me if you have this problem again. Almost 30 members had to be deleted because of this issue. I didn't realize it was still a problem until someone was kind enough to forward the problem to me. |

I have sent her an email letting her know about it. Since she was there twice she must have had trouble logging in. |
Correct. Without going into the nitty-gritty of the code, the problem happened right after it successfully created the user. Along with a user, it also creates a "dummy" group. When it attempted to create one, it the auto-index (auto_increment) field had already reached its maximum number (mediumint can't go past 8388607), so it failed.
After some purging, manually adding back each valid group number, and resyncing it with the user table, I think the problem is solved. I hope so, anyways... |
