There's an interesting article about a new type of hand held printer called the PrintBrush in the latest issue of Popular Science magazine. So long as you have a flat surface available you can pass this printer over it and it will print on that surface and onto a wide variety of materials such as paper, plastic, wood, and even fabric according to the article. The story is not up on their web page yet (they tend to give the print issue some time to sell before putting stuff from it up on the site) but once it's up I'll try to remember to post a link to it. I thought the artists here might like this invention and I think it would be a really useful tool for them; definitely so at conventions for quick custom print jobs. Imagine someone wanting a couple of images you've prepped for convention sales put on a blank shirt they've brought just to name one use. |

Imagine all the stuff you would accidentally print on before you got used to it! Lol.
I can see it now.
-sets down printer to get drink, go to pick it up and accidentally hit print button-

Funny, but likely only would get just a couple of lines done. Remember you have to move the printer yourself it won't move on it's own. |

Not sure.
About as handy as a felt-tipped marker I'd say, but I'd adjust my opinion when someone shows how this results in new applications that I don't see right now. |

At first I thought this was going to be about a handheld printer like those in cash registers, which has been around since forever.
As for this, this too has been around in forms of roving plotters and "Turtle Graphics" since the early 1980's. I had one for my Vic20 and Atari Logo.
This is proof that something old becomes new again. _________________ SHARKS In The Gene Pool South of Kosovo!
